Title: The Goodness of Jehovah
Contents Bible Text: Psalm 135:1-21 Title: The Goodness of the Lord
Psalm 135:1-21.
1 Hallelujah, praise the name of the Lord; praise him, servants of the Lord. 2 You who are in the house of the Lord, in the house of the Lord, in the courts of the temple of our God, 3 Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good.
Praise his name, for his name is beautiful. 4 The LORD hath made Jacob, Israel, for him.
for his own special possession, 5 I know that the LORD is great,
Our Lord is greater than all gods. 6 The LORD does all that he pleases.
He hath done it in heaven and earth and in the sea and in all the depths 7 He raises a mist from the ends of the earth,
He makes lightning and sends the wind out of his barns. 8 He strikes down the firstborn of Egypt, from man to beast. 9 Remember the signs and signs that the LORD has done for you, O Egypt.
He sent to Pharaoh and all his servants. 10 He has struck down many kingdoms and has slain powerful kings. 11 Sihon king of the Amorites, Og king of Bashan, and all the kings of Canaan. 12 He gave their land as an inheritance.
He gave to his people Israel as an inheritance. 13 Your name, O LORD, endures forever.
The remembrance of you, O LORD, is from generation to generation. 14 The LORD judges his people;
15 You will be comforted by his servants. 15 The idols of the end are silver and gold, the work of human hands. 16 They have mouths, but do not speak; They have eyes, but do not see; 17 They have ears, but do not hear, and their mouths breathe no breath. 18 Those who made them and those who depend on it
19 Bless the LORD, O house of Israel.
Bless the LORD, O house of Aaron. 20 Praise the LORD, house of Levi.
Blessed be the LORD, you who fear the LORD. 21 Blessed be the LORD, who dwells in Jerusalem, in Zion, hallelujah.
* This psalm is a psalm sung by the nation of Israel as they receive great salvation.
Perhaps it is also to commemorate the salvation that brought them back from the Babylonian captivity.
It is said to be the morning hymn sung by the Levites when they opened the temple.
Hallelujah, praise the name of the Lord, praise the Lord's servants (1)
God's grace to Israel is eternal. (4)
The Lord is still working today for the church, the spiritually chosen people.
The idol in which the Gentiles trust is vanity.
Relying on it would be foolish. (15-18)
Today, people revere material idols, power idols, and taste idols.
What is the end of idol worshipers?
It is to enter the “lake that burns with fire and brimstone” (Revelation 21:8).
8 But the fearful and the unbeliever and the wicked
murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters,
All liars will be thrown into the lake burning with fire and brimstone.
this is the second death
