Bible Text: Romans 1:8-15 Title: The Gospel You Need to Hear Again
1) Am I of Jesus Christ?
Dear members of Baekseok Church, who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ,
Then, to us today too, I really belong to Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 3:23).
Do you have confidence and gratitude?
Is there a confession that I live or die, but only Jesus' (Romans 14:8)?
If left alone, it can only be used as firewood in hell.
You shed all your water and blood on the cross for me,
You saved me and made me yours in Jesus Christ,
You don't know how grateful I am. Pastor, it belongs to Jesus. It belongs to Jesus.”
He was a person who confessed with such emotion.
So we knew very clearly where he was going,
I was able to send him to the Lord even in that desolation.
He clearly knew who he was.
He clearly knew that he belonged to Jesus Christ.
Then, during this time, I dare to ask you a challenging question.
You know, if I'm called to do that tonight
"Amen! Lord, thank you for calling me to your place.”
can you confess? If, to this question, even one of us
If there is someone who cannot confess with certainty,
Today's sermon is for him.
He is the one who needs to hear the gospel again.
Even if you go to church for 10 years, even if you attend 20 years, even if you are a church deacon,
He is the one who needs to hear the gospel again.
2) Am I the one who is loved by God?
Then, everyone, today we are told that I am the “beloved of God.”
Are you confident and grateful for something? With the conviction that I am “indebted to the gospel,”
Do we still have tears of joy for God's love and grace?
When we call today, “He raised a sinner like me” (chapter 405).
Are there tears of gratitude and joy in my heart?
Dear members of Baekseok Church who are loved by God, today we
Wash me with the blood of the cross, who deserves to die for my sins,
Do I have the thrill of being a child of God in my heart?
If these tears of joy in me and in your hearts,
If these tears of gratitude are dry,
These are the people you and I need to hear the gospel again.
3) Am I a saint?
We are also a holy people to whom we are called of God,
Do you live by remembering that you are a royal priesthood?
It means that we are living a separate life as saints today.
What are saints? Holy people. What is a holy people?
It means a separate people. But it's really sad
Many Christians today sing hymns and pray in the church
It seems that you are a saint when you worship, but if you go to church, are you a saint?
I can't tell if they belong to this world
Someone said that there are many “Gwangju-ri members” in the Korean church.
what do you mean? When the basket is in water, it is full of water,
When a basket is raised from the water, no water is left in the basket.
all leak. Likewise, even among the members of the church, when they are in the church,
Especially when we worship, we seem to be full of faith,
They seem to be saints (separated people), but if they go into the world,
I can't tell if it's a saint or not.
Lying, hating, envying, cursing, and swearing just like the rest of the world
They act dishonestly, and they are not separated from the world at all.
So, if a negative event occurs in this society, it must be there.
The clergy are involved. Towards this kind of Korean church, the people of the world
They are accusing them of being 'Christian'.
And to listen to their accusations, frankly, in many cases
There are many things that our church and its members gave an excuse for.
If so, I really want you to live separately from the rest of the world.
We, who were called to be saints, do not know how we became like this.
For us today, the self-consciousness of “I am set apart”,
Am I self-conscious that I am a saint?
If not, we must hear the gospel again.
