Title: The Greatest in Heaven
Bible: Luke 22:24-30
Starting Point of the Word>>
Today, at this time, we would like to share a message with the subject of “the greatest in heaven.
It seems that people are constantly trying to rise and live in the hope of becoming great.
If you look at the words of today's text, you can see that even the disciples of Jesus are quarreling over the question of 'who is the greatest'.
Jesus said to these disciples, in verse 25,
“Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles rule over them, and their rulers are called benefactors.”
Says.
The kings of the world are said to be rulers, but this means that they want to rule the world and show off their power.
And those who are ruled in the world call that king a benefactor because he rules over them.
What do you mean?
The great in the world are those who rule, take over, and show off their power.
As we can see through our lives, powerful people ignore and treat people less powerful than themselves.
But in today's text, Jesus is teaching His disciples who is the greatest.
As I always say, we should not try to understand the thoughts of God, that is, the thoughts of Jesus, as our thoughts.
Jesus is explaining to his disputing disciples who is truly the greatest.
The teachings of Jesus were also different from what the world thought.
Today, I hope that these teachings of Jesus will be heard as words that give us great strength, courage, and grace.

So, what kind of person does the great person Jesus refer to?
First, He says, “The greatest among you is like the youngest.”
If we look at verse 28 of the text,
“It shall not be so with you; the greatest among you is like the younger.”
You said.
The word “young man” in this verse means “honeo ters” in the original language, and translated, it means “the very young one” or “the lowest one.”
Therefore, in order to become great in heaven, we must first have the faith of a child.
Adults tell lies to elevate themselves, are willing to deceive, and even harm those who stand in their way.
But young children are not.
A child is innocent as he is, without deceit, and he admits his incompetence.
Therefore, we must become saints who thoroughly acknowledge their incompetence before God and who entrust everything to God without lying.
God exalts us like this.
Also, we must become the saints with the attitude of the lowest, that is, the servant.
The lowest in this world are slaves and servants.
A slave is always in a low position, and he does not dare to exalt himself.
Because slaves have no sovereignty, they serve and obey only their masters.
God exalts those who have this attitude of servanthood.
Second, Jesus says that those who serve are great.
Looking at the words of verses 26-27,
“The one who rules is like the one who serves. Is the one who sits eating great or the one who serves or not the one who sits and eats? But I am among you as one who serves (verses 26-27).
The first thing we need to understand from this verse is the meaning of “ruler”.
The ruler in the Bible is different from the worldly meaning.
We did not understand the word “ruling” well, and as we tried to understand it with our own knowledge, it turned out to be a form of us that was disobeying God’s will.
The ruler in the world is the one who rules and oppresses, but the ruler in the Bible must humble himself, sacrifice himself, and become a servant.
In Genesis, God created the heavens and the earth and told Adam and Eve to rule the earth.
However, ruling here also has the meaning of “to take care of, to help, to live together” in the original language.
Therefore, for us as saints to become great people and rule on this earth, it means that those who care for the world and those who help are to be established.
But in today's Word, Jesus tells us why we must become saints of service.
The reason is that Jesus himself is a servant among the disciples, so you should do the same.
Jesus gave a direct example of how to be a servant.
Before being crucified, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper.
And he told you to do the same.
What do you mean?
Just as I wash your feet by serving you, so you too should be servants of one another.
Jesus always said that those who serve are blessed.
According to Philippians 2:3-4,
“Let nothing be done out of strife or vanity, but in lowliness of mind let each one consider others better than himself, each taking care of his own affairs, but also of others and his affairs, so that my joy may be filled.”
is saying
I hope that we too will become believers who imitate the way of service that Jesus showed and put us in the place of service.
Third, He said that if you walk with Jesus during temptation, you will become great.
This is verses 28-30 of the main text.
“You have always been with me in all my trials, so I also entrust you, as my Father has entrusted me with the kingdom, that you may be in my kingdom, eating and drinking at my table, or sitting on thrones to rule the twelve tribes of Israel. ”
The Lord promised His disciples that those who participated in trials, persecutions and sufferings would inherit the kingdom of heaven and set them up as rulers and rulers.
Therefore, we must become saints who bear the test with joy when we face trials that come upon us.
According to Matthew 5:11-12,
“Blessed are you when they curse and persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in this way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
The world makes us face the problem of temptation in order to knock us down, who are the saints of faith.
However, God said that He only gives us the problems of testing we can bear.
Therefore, we should not be surprised or frightened by the problem of temptation, but only look at the wonderful grace of God who gives us grace through this.
And all you have to do is to overcome the test you received and enjoy the grace of God that you gain.
Because we have such a life of grace, we must not leave the Lord no matter what kind of test we have, and believe in the WLL and become saints.
In the text, Jesus said, “He was always with me in all my trials.”
This means that even in the midst of suffering, he does not leave the Lord and only saves and exalts those who are with Him.
Ladies and gentlemen, when we are with the Lord, we can experience the amazing grace of overcoming all trials.
At the end of the speech>>
Organize your words.
Today Jesus is teaching us how to be high in a different way from the world.
Like the disciples of Jesus, maybe we live with a desire to be high in our workplace, church, home, and school.
But I want you to become a high person who pleases God, not a high person who pleases the world.
It is said that God exalts us and makes us great when we are young, like “little children,” and have feelings like “the lowest. , He says that God makes those who consider others better than themselves in the position of serving.
Lastly, He promises to keep our faith in the midst of the trials and tribulations of the world, and to make us great when we do not leave the Lord's side.
I pray in the name of the Lord that all of our members will remember today's word and live a life that pleases God as a great person whom God recognizes.
