Title: The Greatness of the Bible

Contents

Text: 2 Timothy 3:14-17

Church School Summer Bible School begins. Our little ones learn the Bible, and we must learn the Bible too. The Bible is the Word of God and consists of 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament. B.C. It was written by about 40 people over a period of about 1500 years, from about 1440 to about 100 A.D. How can what was written by men become the Word of God? 2 Timothy 3:16 says that the Bible was written by men who were inspired by God. Therefore, the Bible is the Word of God. Through the Bible, the Word of God, we can ① know the existence of God, ② see what God has done, ③ understand God’s plans, intentions, and will, and ④ God’s commands and promises, etc. can meet.

That's why we all read this Bible

1. Must learn. And you have to hold on to it.

Verse 14 says, “Stay in the things you have learned and have been convinced of.” The Greek word for 'residence' is 'mene', which means 'to remain to the end'. In other words, you have to stay in it and live as you learn it in the field of life.

2. We must learn from a young age.

In particular, teachers need to teach children well. I hope that you will do your best to grow as a blessed child of God through serving God, being filial to your parents, loving the church, serving your neighbor, loving the country, and valuing the soul. .

The Bible is the word of life, the word of power, the word of wisdom, the word of blessing, and the word of eternal life. Let's look at the four reasons why we should learn this Bible in the text.

① The Bible makes Jesus known.

In John 14:6 it says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” Those who do not know Jesus and are full of worldly knowledge are spiritually foolish and foolish.

② The Bible makes us believe.

Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” And it's important to know right away. In particular, in our church, when recitation of the Apostles' Creed, 'catholic' is changed to 'church', and from the beginning of worship, 'silent prayer', a remnant of worshiping the Japanese emperor, is removed and replaced with 'call to worship'. I hope you realize.

③ The Bible guides us on the way of salvation.

The Bible is like a signpost or guide to salvation. It guides you through unfamiliar roads, such as car navigation, and teaches you what you don't know safely and clearly.

④ The Bible makes people wise.

God is the source of wisdom. The treasure of wisdom that humans cannot imagine is hidden in the Word of God.

Not only that, the Bible says, “It is useful for teaching, reproof, correction, and justification, so that the believers may be perfected to do good.”

Dear members of Shepherd Church,

As the words of Psalm 25:5, “Teach me in Your truth,” I hope you will do your best to learn the Bible and teach it to your children. Also, I pray that you will know Jesus through the Bible, have strong faith, walk on the right path of salvation, and become wise saints. Hallelujah!! Amen.
