Title: The Heart of Jesus for One Soul

Contents

body description

Jesus, who calmed the storm on the battlefield, restores a madman possessed by a demon in the text.

What message is given to us through the text?

First, Jesus loves even one soul.

John 10:10

Symptoms - Section 5,

Ex) Conspiracy of the devil hidden in the cultural trend

Ex) George Osborne

1 Timothy 4:1

Genesis 4:16-22

Second, one soul is more precious than the world (verses 8-13).

Verses 16-17 of the text show the image of people who place more weight on material things than the preciousness of their souls.

Ex) using a warm bundle/person as a means

Finally, verses 18-20.

A funny thing happened in Decapolis.

Decapolis means 'ten cities'.

Located on the east side of the Jordan River, there were 10 cities with different urban characteristics.

They were mostly Greeks.

Their names were Scytophoris (the only city west of the Jordan), Dion, Pella, Gerasa, Philadelphia, Gadara, Lapara, Kanata, Hippo, and Damascus.

The Greeks invaded Syria and Palestine by Alexander the Great.

They were very beautiful cities.

And the citizens had a Greek shrine, an open-air theater, and lived in a Greek style.

So here you find something interesting. This was the first thing Jesus did in the Decapolis, and it was the first time the Greek community came into contact with Jesus.

Here we see the first signs of Christianity spreading throughout the world.

Here we can understand why Jesus didn't allow anyone he wanted to be with and sent him home.

At first glance, it seems hard to understand and cold-hearted, but it is to make him testify of Christ.

It was sent because he wanted to prove vividly through his life what Jesus Christ had done for him.

Our glory is not in what we do for Christ, but in what Christ has done for us.

He was the first seed sown in the Gentiles. It was in the Decapolis that Greek culture and Christianity first came into contact.

Everything must start somewhere.

Remember, it was through a man possessed by an army demon and healed by Jesus that all the glory of Christianity blossomed in Greece.

The Lord always starts anything through someone.

He would have witnessed his experience without any theological knowledge.

Do you not know what the Lord is trying to do through us or me in the society and organization we live in?

It is unfortunate that a society that knows the dignity of one life.

Aren't we afraid that our comfort and property will be damaged more than saving lives?

Let me find out the purpose for which Christ sent me to Malacca.
