Title: The Heart that Blesses Life
Revelation (28) The heart that makes life blessed
(Rev 5:1-5)
1. A bold heart
In the right hand of God who sat on the throne was a scroll written inside and out and sealed with seven seals (verse 1). On that scroll was written the history of the future expressed in terms of “things that must happen afterward (Revelation 4:1).” But no one could break the seal (verse 3). The Apostle John wept loudly because he could not overcome his disappointment. At that moment, one of the 24 elders surrounding the throne in heaven comforted the apostle John and said: “Do not weep, for the lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome, and will open the scroll and its seven seals” (verse 5).
The lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, refers to Jesus. This scene makes us realize how great the power of Jesus is. Also, while thinking about the authority of Jesus, we must also think about the authority given to the saints who received the Lord and became children of God. Therefore, believers should not be afraid of any tribulation or trial, nor be afraid of any evil Satan and the devil, but live boldly.
The Jews called the demon king Beelzebub. Beelzebub literally means ‘King of Paris’. What lesson does this devil's name teach us? It teaches us that the saints are beings who can overcome the devil. No one in this world is afraid of flies. The same goes for ‘King of Paris’. With such faith, you can overcome the forces of darkness. Also, there is no environment in this world that believers cannot overcome.
2. Sacrifice
The expression of Jesus as “the lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David” shows how blessed Judas and David were. How did they become so blessed? First of all, the most outstanding thing about Judas was his spirit of sacrifice. When Joseph, who became prime minister in Egypt, tried to take Benjamin as a hostage, Judah offered to take Benjamin as a hostage instead of his brother Benjamin. That self-sacrificing heart set a fire to Joseph's forgiving heart. There is no better attitude than the attitude of one's own willingness to bear a difficult burden in a difficult moment.
When people see their heart of sacrifice, they want to give a lot, but will God see the heart of sacrifice and leave it alone? God will forever remember the sacrifice of the cross and will surely repay you with a tenfold blessing. All humans have many shortcomings. Still, basically, always have the heart to carry the cross. Then, God will open the way of blessing by reducing what you are lacking in 1/10 and enlarging what you are good at 10 times.
3. An obedient heart
If Judah's excellence was the spirit of sacrifice, what was David's superiority? David always had God at the center of his life, and he lived as a being in accord with God's will. God sees the heart and gives blessings. The most important principle when living your life of faith is to live your life of faith according to “God’s way” rather than “my way”. The reason why people sometimes face trials is for the growth of an obedient heart. Every trial is a journey to learn the ‘way of God’.
Living with obedience in every moment is the starting point of every successful and miraculous life. If you work hard and obey, God will show you amazing miracles in your life. If there is obedience, there will be blessings; without obedience, there will be no blessings. Obedience and blessing come and go together. At the moment of choice in your life, always try to choose a life that pleases God. Blessings depend on your attitude to choose a life that pleases God.
