Title: The Highest Knowledge
Noble means clean and high in appearance and embracing, not yielding to worldly and lowly things, high meaning and holiness, noble is associated with character, and noble is associated with knowledge
When talking with people, sometimes I feel like I am, and sometimes the other person feels ignorant.
If it is knowledge and character that ennobles a man the most,
It can be said that the apostle Paul was much nobler before he believed in Jesus as the Christ.
But what does the Apostle Paul call the noble knowledge that he has now realized?
That knowledge will be the knowledge of Jesus Christ and a person who resembles Jesus Christ.
Jews want greater miracles, Greeks want higher philosophies, but we preach the crucified Jesus.
1. This noblest knowledge of the cross is the knowledge we realize when we give up everything.
All that was useful to me, I counted as loss for Christ's sake. [ past ]
When worldly knowledge is abandoned, the noblest knowledge is realized.
With our experience and learning, we cannot meet the Lord, but rather, it only gets in the way of meeting the Lord.
When I put my thoughts behind me, I can hear other people's voices.
The foundation of all science is God, and the decision of all science is God.
Only those who build themselves on faith, that is, on Jesus Christ, will meet God and
You can see God.
2. The knowledge that I realize when I forsake the righteousness I had and meet the righteousness of the cross
It is not the righteousness from the law, but the righteousness obtained through faith in Christ.[Present]
I have lost everything for him and have gained Christ, which I count as dung.
By the righteousness of the law that Paul knew, learned, and kept as Saul,
Now Paul realizes that he cannot attain salvation and that he cannot meet the true God.
“No one comes to the Father except through me”
If we hold on to our righteousness and seek to be found true there, it will be
It only opposes the cross of the Lord and darkens the noble knowledge of God.
The righteousness of the world seized by the Jews
Jews fasted twice a week and prayed five times a day.
count as righteousness. When entering from outside, be sure to wash hands and feet
I hope you keep your righteous seat.
3. The noblest knowledge is righteousness from God (justification)
1) This righteousness is not the righteousness achieved by keeping the law.
The gift of God is righteousness through faith in Christ.
The greatest gift God has given us is the righteousness of God that only God has.
This is Jesus, who gave freely to us, and this is salvation.
2) This righteousness is statutory, one-time, and eternal
The judgment rendered in God's court is immediate and eternal, without retrial, appeal, or lack. Salvation is God's grace, justification, and sonship, and through one grace we have eternal life.
3) When you consider what is beneficial to be detrimental
God becomes my treasure when I let go of what I have been holding on to until now, when I throw away what is precious.
In fact, this benefit refers to a worldly, extremely human benefit for oneself. (Job 22:24-26)
We can see the face of God when we throw away the things of the world that we considered as treasures.
