Title: The History of God

Title: The work of God (Matthew 16:21-28)

In a short period of time, the number of spectators is 15 million, and sales are 130 billion won.

This success was due to Yi Sun-sin's willingness to fight.

In fact, it is inconceivable to defeat 300 Japanese enemies with only 12 remaining ships. However, the view that Yi Sun-sin still had 12 ships left was different from the view of others.

this is the heart He confessed, "Whoever wants to die lives, and whoever wants to live, die." 25Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

How could it be such a religious confession? I believe that this kind of heart is the work of a miracle by God.

We also hope that the work that God is doing will happen through us.

In the text, Jesus is telling his disciples what will happen in the future.

21 From that time on Jesus Christ began to show his disciples that he must go up to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.

The Lord speaks of the suffering of the cross and confesses that we must rise from the dead on the third day. This suffering on the cross is the will of God.

But look at Peter's actions. Isn't that an extremely human thought?

Are you talking about the crucifixion of Jesus? 22 Peter seized Jesus and turned to him, saying, "Not so, Lord, for this will never happen to you." Who wouldn't think like this Peter? If anyone hates suffering and refuses to suffer, will we not stop like Peter when Jesus suffers?

23 But Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan; you are a stumbling block to me, for you do not think about the things of God, but the things of men.”

That's right. How often in our lives do we think of the things of men instead of the things of God?

See Judas Iscariot?

He was one of Jesus' 12 disciples, but he did not think about God's work, but only his own glory.

The goal should be only for Jesus, but his goals were success in life, money, wealth, and fame, which are the glory that will come to him.

The Lord says 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Shouldn't this be our goal?

So says the Lord. When the disciples who follow the Lord worry about clothing, food, and drink, Matthew 6:33 Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

First, it says to follow the Lord and do His work. Then you will add to your food and clothing and drink.

When you believe in me and follow me, he says, lay down your life and follow me. 25 Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

If you distance yourself from the Lord and immerse yourself in worldly affairs in order to sustain your life, you will lose your life. Otherwise, if you follow the Lord, you will find your life and enjoy eternal life.

John 12:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.

In other words, unless we, a grain of wheat, die with Jesus in the world, we cannot have any influence in the world and cannot accomplish the work of salvation.

The Lord is more like following Jesus, what happens when we do not die with the cross and lose our lives while taking only the worldly things?

26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? What will a man give in exchange for his life?

In conclusion, we say that God will repay you for what you have done on this earth. Just as if you want to die for the Lord, you will live; if you want to live, you will die.

It speaks of the history of reaping what you sow for the Lord.

Galatians 6:7 “Do not deceive yourself, for God is not despised, for whatever a man sows he will also reap. 8 He who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but whoever sows to the Spirit will also reap eternal life from the Spirit. ”

We hope that God's work will come to you by becoming me and you who cast away human thoughts and take up the cross and follow the Lord.
