4. Hear, Israel, the LORD our God is the only LORD.
5. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart,
7. You will teach your children diligently, and you will preach these words when you sit at home, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8. You shall also tie it to your wrist as a sign, and put it between your forehead as a mark.
9. You shall also write it on the doorpost of your house and on the outside door.

1. Therefore, brethren, I beseech you by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable worship.
2. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, which is good, acceptable, and perfect.

Text: Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Romans 12:1-2
He said that this kind of sacrifice is pleasing to God. ‘Therefore’ presupposes the salvation history of Shin-Deuk Lee mentioned earlier (Romans 1-11). There are some associated scriptures (1:16,17; 3:10-18, 22-24; 5:8; 6:21-23; 7:24; 8:1-39; 10:10,13,17; 11:29). The grace of salvation envelops our souls and hearts like waves. ‘Brothers’ refers to the family of God who have become brothers and sisters in Christ. “I beseech you by the mercies of God” is not only the grace of Lee Shin-yi, but also the basis for the practical exhortation we are going to make now. ‘Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. This is your spiritual worship.' This is the supreme and supreme role that the body of Christians (1 Corinthians 6:19,20), which has become a temple of the Holy Spirit, must perform. It is reminiscent of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-24).
He gives specific instructions. He says, ‘Do not be conformed to this generation!’ The danger in the life of faith is renunciation of forgetting God and living according to the world. Secularism weakens or destroys the vitality of the Christian faith. He says, ‘Be transformed by the renewing of your heart!’ It is the attitude of a Christian that is emphasized in the prison epistles (Ephesians 4:17-24). Only then can we “discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” This is because changes in life follow only when there is ‘goodness, joy, and perfect discernment of will’. True sacrifice is life according to God's will. A new birth is a life given to God. Our holiness does not depend on special experiences like the Gentiles, but in the training and sanctification of everyday experiences. Along with the purification of the language (2 Timothy 2:15-17), it is a matter of making changes in our daily lives according to the holy will.
