Title: The Holy Spirit and the Dream
“Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you, and you become a liar” (Proverbs 30:6).
Even now, there are many people who believe that God reveals His will through dreams just as in the Old Testament and New Testament times.
The core of these people's thinking is that because God loves the saints, God tells them about the good or bad things that will happen in the future through a dream so that they avoid avoidance and encounter misfortunes. It is that we can foresee future events of the church, the country, and the world through dreams, and that we have the ability to interpret other people's dreams with the power of the Holy Spirit.
They have their own absolute certainty about their dreams and some kind of spiritual confidence or even a sense of spiritual superiority that God has a special love for them. They dream in a church with such a spiritual flow and color, and by interpreting dreams, they occupy a spiritual leadership position (?), and they lie to the souls of many people whether they know it or not, and eventually lead them down the path of delusion (?). ) are doing.
In some churches, this kind of behavior is publicly practiced to the extent that it is hard to tell whether it is a church, a dream house, or a fortune-telling, and some people are actively (?) Some people work. They have their own dream interpretation system. That is, interpreting dreams in light of the Bible.
If you go to them, they will interpret all your dreams. They even interpret Taemong (?). The modern version of Joseph and the modern version of Daniel appeared. In front of them, no dream can hide its identity. They seem to have more power(?) than Joseph and Daniel.
Some people do a good job of interpreting dreams (?), so they get invited (?) from place to place with praise (?), such as being spiritual, having a lot of grace, having a lot of power, and being a person with the Holy Spirit. are also doing As their busy activities and followers increase, churches are increasingly leaving the gospel and becoming materialistic, secular, and mystic in superstition, blind faith or fanaticism.
Dream stories are recorded in the Old and New Testaments.
Jacob's dream at Bethel (Gen. 28), Joseph's dream (Gen. 37), Joseph's dream interpretation (Gen. 40), Pharaoh's dream and Joseph's interpretation (Gen. 41), the story of someone who spoke before Gideon. Dream (Judges 7), Solomon's dream (1 Kings 3), Nebuchadnezzar's dream and Daniel's interpretation (Dan 2), Nebuchadnezzar's second dream and Daniel's interpretation (Dan 4), Mary's Joseph’s dream to become a husband (Matthew 1), the dreams of wise men from the East (Matthew 2:12), another dream of Joseph (Matthew 2:13), Joseph’s dream in Egypt (Matthew 2:19), Another dream of Joseph (Matthew 2:22) and the dream of Pilate's wife (Matthew 27:19).
If you look at the dreams recorded in the Old and New Testaments, you can clearly see that God revealed God's will and plan through those dreams.
“He said to me, “Listen to me, if there is a prophet among you, the Lord makes me known to him in visions, and I speak to him in dreams” (Numbers 12:6).
“You scare me with dreams, and you terrify me with visions” (Job 7:14).
There are stories of dreams in the Bible as well. As the claims of those who believe that God still reveals them through dreams, even today, if God reveals God’s will and God’s plans through dreams by the power of the Holy Spirit, it is a strange and incomprehensible story. Problems will arise.
First, the words of the Bible must be added.
Because God revealed a new will and plan through a dream, so this is God's Word, how can it not be added to the Bible? Even if added, serious problems arise. Soon, how should we add to the Bible by selecting and analyzing the many dreams of countless dreamers, who claim to have received a revelation from God in their dreams? However, it was clearly commanded by God, who revealed through dreams in the Old and New Testament times, that bigger things should not be added or subtracted.
“I testify to every one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the prophecy of this book, God will He will take away your participation in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are written in this book” (Revelation 22:18-19).
Second, can God, who revealed through dreams, complete the Bible and strictly not add or subtract, and again give new revelation through dreams or other methods? Even today, as in the Bible era, those who believe and claim that God gives revelation through dreams are making God into a strange God who speaks in every word. God's command not to add or subtract is the same as saying that he will not give new revelations forever.
Third, if God is still revealing through dreams today, the saints of modern times should tell the story of their dreams when they get together. Where would you like to have time to sing, pray, and study the Bible? Shouldn't we be able to discover one more new revelation of God through the dream story? If so, how strange is that?
Fourth, all the saints around the world must use all means to inform the world of the new revelation of God in this age, newly revealed through dreams. How strange is this too?
Dreams in the Bible era have the following characteristics.
First, God Himself gave it to us.
Second, it was precisely and certain that it was specifically fulfilled in the same way as the dream.
Third, those who received God's command through a dream must obey that dream.
Fourth, those dreams became reality and revealed the glory of God.
Fifth, it is recorded in the Bible.
Are the dreams you have in this day and age the same as these? no. None of them match.
No matter what kind, content, or character of dreams we have today, even if we claim that these dreams are God-given revelations, how can we verify that they are God-given dreams? There is no way. In the Old Testament times, when God revealed dreams through dreams, there was a verification method that could determine whether the dreams of prophets or dreamers were true or not. And the punishment for those who dreamed these false dreams was severe.
“If any of you, a prophet or dreamer, rises up and shows you signs and wonders, and says to you, “Let us go after other gods of which you did not know them before, and if signs and wonders fulfill their word, you must not obey the prophet or dreamer For the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You obey the LORD your God and fear him, keep his commands, obey his voice, serve him, and serve him. obey him, and put to death any prophet or dreamer, so that he may betray the LORD your God, whom he took you out of the land of Egypt and ransom from the house of bondage, and to lead you out of the way the LORD your God commanded you to do. So you shall take away evil from among you” (Deuteronomy 13:1-5).
This verification method was given by God Himself because Satan is already using dreams to deceive the soul for his purpose. In the last days, Satan is mobilizing all his power to deceive the soul. He deceives souls by stealing God's method, the Bible's method, as he has already used it. Dreams are one of them.
If you are likely to be deceived by the activity of the Spirit through dreams,
First, the Word of God, the Bible, is far away. This is because the content of the dream has a greater influence on that person than the word. Even if you read the Bible, you will only like the content of that nature. Of course, you will not be able to properly interpret the Bible.
Second, the foundation of our religious life will be shaken. This is because the focus of our religious life is wrong.
Third, the spirit that gives fear and terror will rule over the soul, preventing us from enjoying true freedom in the Gospel.
Fourth, you will have the spiritual and life characteristics of shamanism, divination, and idolatry.
Fifth, we become spiritually proud.
Sixth, Satan will be able to play tricks on a person's soul through dreams.
Seventh, spiritual discernment is lost.
Eighth, the balance and order of life will be broken. Ninth, you will try to fellowship with the spirit that gives you that dream. Finally, you fall into a worker of the evil spirit who gives you that dream.
After God's revelation was completed as the written word, the Holy Spirit and dreams have no relationship. The Holy Spirit now speaks with the written Word, the completed revelation.
“Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:17).
Dreams are no longer God's instruments of revelation. Those who interpret dreams are also false spirits.
God is not the one who predicts the future about any person, any church, or any country now. The words given through the Bible are all the words of God. Through the Word of the Bible, God has given us everything we need, namely, all the wisdom, guidance, instruction, and doctrine we need spiritually and in life. You have given me without fail. &
