Title: The Holy Spirit Says Let It Go

Contents

The Holy Spirit tells us to forsake it (1 Corinthians 2:14).

The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14).

We live in a world where nothing can be done without electricity. Cell phones, various home appliances, medical devices, and soldiers' weapons are all just lumps of iron without electricity. I need electricity to fulfill my role. The Holy Spirit is like electricity in our life of faith. The Holy Spirit is present in all areas of our religious life. Without the help of the Holy Spirit, we cannot do anything related to our faith. If the Bible had been written today, the Holy Spirit would have been written as electricity. The Holy Spirit is the motivation and strength for all of our faith lives. become a guide. become a teacher. But this Holy Spirit cannot be seen or touched. The Spirit is like the wind. You can't see it, you can't touch it. But obviously you cannot see the wind itself, but you can see the wind blowing. You can tell if the wind is blowing by looking at the laundry fluttering on the clothesline or the flag fluttering on the flagpole. The same is true of the Holy Spirit. We cannot see the Holy Spirit itself, but we can see the Holy Spirit working.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, two phenomena occur. The power to change the desires of the flesh arises. When the Holy Spirit comes, it becomes smaller. Many people want to receive the Holy Spirit and satisfy their desires. However, when the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we will control the desires of our hearts. People use the Holy Spirit to make themselves bigger. Because the Pharisees and the scribes tried to satisfy their desires through their religious life, they were rebuked by Jesus as being cursed. People can be successful with passion to satisfy their desires. But it was not the work of the Holy Spirit.

When the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we can be healed of diseases and even cast out demons. A miracle appears. But this is not proof that the Holy Spirit exists. The Bible clearly states that even demons have such powers. Those who worship other gods can perform similar miracles. Only the Holy Spirit can calm people's greed and put them down. Even today, many people seek the Holy Spirit as a means to satisfy their desires. And when their desires are satisfied, they insist that it is the work of the Holy Spirit. They say that they have received the power of God. However, the God-given power is not the ability to fill, but the ability to empty. The power God has given is not the ability to increase, but the ability to decrease. Therefore, according to the Spirit, people seem foolish to the world.
