Title: The Joy of Being (3)
Joy of Being (3)
Text/ Jeremiah 29:1-14
1. Introduction
It is the consistent testimony of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation that 存在 (existence-existence-alive-life) is ultimately joy in spite of the formidable threat-attack of non-存在 (non-existence-desperation-anxiety-death). .
2. Jeremiah's Letter
The Israelites were taken captive to Babylon three times in BC606-BC597-BC587 (Jeremiah 52:28-30). And in 572 BC, Israel was completely destroyed.
恨 of 亡國! We clearly remember the history of the national anthem on August 22, 1910. We remember the countless number of our people who were taken by bullets - to forced labor - and their suffering - their disgrace - their despair. To live was despair and disgrace.
So was the Babylonian captivity of the Israelites. I didn't want to live. The text is a letter from the prophet Jeremiah to such people. Jeremiah delivers a command from God. “Nevertheless, be alive be alive,” he says. He says, “Build your house in that land - plow the field - get married - have children and live there - multiply and do not wither away!” Jeremiah wrote this letter with tears of blood and tears in his stomach. Therefore, we call Jeremiah the prophet of tears - the prophet of weeping.
3. Existence is a joy in spite of all the attacks of non-being. Why?
first. Being (being-alive-life) is sometimes painful. But suffering is suffering that has conceived the joy of existence. Therefore, Pushkin wrote:
Though life deceives you, do not be sad or angry, if you endure the days of sorrow, the day of joy will come, the heart lives in the future, the present is always
