Title: The Joy of the Holidays
the joy of the holidays
John 5:1
2007. 2. 18 (New Year's Day), morning
In today's text, we can see Jesus Christ ascending to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast. You can realize that even Jesus did not neglect or indifferent to the feasts of the world. Today, we Christians too, rather than being indifferent or neglecting our holidays, if we can keep them with a spiritual meaning, it will be a blessed day.
According to the Bible, it is God the Father who made the festival and commanded it to be observed. “You shall commemorate this day as a feast to the Lord, and you shall observe it as an everlasting ordinance from generation to generation” (Exodus 12:14).
Jesus, the Son of God, also kept the Passover feast (Luke 2:41-42; John 5:1). The Holy Spirit also descended on the Feast of Pentecost (Acts 2:1).
What is the joy of the holidays for Christians?
1. The joy of finding your hometown.
When the holidays return, the thing that reminds everyone and prepares is to go back to their hometown. People who have nowhere to go to visit their hometown always live with a lonely heart. During the Lunar New Year holidays, highways are congested and tens of millions of people migrate to their hometowns. Having a hometown, thinking about my hometown and looking at my hometown gives me the joy of visiting it, so I am also happy with the hardships. The joy of the holiday brings many people to their hometown.
There are some things Christians must remember during the holidays. That is, Christians have a home. we all go home
