body description
*The reason for blotting out Amalek in verses 14 and 16 so that there will be no memory under the heavens.
After the battle with Amalek, the victory flag of ‘Jehovah Nissi’ fluttered in the camp of Israel.
Israel enjoyed the joy of victory together.
How did you get this joy of victory?
1. There was the power of worship (verse 15).
This is the first altar Moses built.
When the Red Sea parted and water came out of the rock, he gave thanks and did not build an altar, but built an altar after winning the battle with Amalek.
*Explain the flow of Exodus 17
Deuteronomy 25:18 “In other words, they did not fear God… ”
Why did the Bible say, “Do not fear God” to Amalek who attacked the weak in the rear of Israel?
Amalek was the son of Esau's son Eliphaz.
That is, Esau was the father of Edom and the father of Amalek.
Who was Esau?
*Explaining Genesis 25/ Genesis 25:34 “They were disregarding the birthright”
Although the firstborn son had the privilege of leading the worship of the family in the future, he traded it for survival (bread and red bean soup).
In the end, Amalek, a descendant of Esau who ignored worship, fearlessly attacked the weak side of God's children without fear of God.
2. There was prayer (verse 11).
Ex) Richard Foster's Prayer - Intercession
It was like praying cooperatively (verse 12). - Prayer that transcends generations.
Example) The power of prayer for 27 people
Ex) The prayer of a mother and wife who saved their son
3. There was a man who acted (verses 10, 13).
At the top of the mountain, Moses prayed, and at the bottom of the mountain, Joshua wielded a sword and fought.
Faith is moving.
If you have faith, you are bound to act, and in the process, your faith to depend on God grows.
James 2:22/26
Example) A saint who prayed early in the morning for 10 years
In the name of the Lord, I pray in the name of the Lord that the joy of victory in Jehovah Nissi overflows in the lives of our Malacca Korean Church members through the power of worship, prayer, and the way they believe and act while relying on God.
