Title/ The key to winning life
Text/ 1 John 5:1-12
1 John was written by the Apostle John in 100 AD.
His father was Zebedee, his mother was Salome, and he had a brother, James, a disciple of Jesus.
His family lived in a family rich enough to be a servant, but he refused to be a child of a wealthy family and chose life as a disciple of Jesus.
He became the victor of the true refusal to write the Book of Revelation on the Isle of Patmos.
1, The saints who are born again by God win. verse 4 above
“For everyone who is born of God overcomes the world”
What is born from parents is called flesh. The Bible says this fleshly body is useless.
(Romans 8:12-16) “You must not lose to the flesh and live according to the flesh… If you put to death the deeds of the body by the Spirit, you will live.
lini”
The Lord teaches Nicodemus that the deeds of the flesh die and that one is led by the Spirit is born again.
(John 3:6-7) “What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Do not marvel at the words of
As Nicodemus said (John 3:4), it is not that we are not born again when we grow old, nor are we able to go into the womb and be born again.
2, Believers who have faith win. verse 4 and below
“This is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.”
Today's text teaches that the secret to overcoming the world is “faith” very precisely.
(Mark 9:23-24) “Jesus said to him, “If it is possible, what do you mean? It is impossible for those who believe.
There is none.” Immediately the child’s father cried out, saying, “I believe.
Help me with my unbelief.”
If you do not have the faith to overcome, you must seek the help of the Lord who gives you the faith to overcome.
(Hebrews 12:2) “Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.”
(Philippians 4:13) “I can do all things through him who strengthens me”
Verse 10 ▶ Believers and non-believers
3, The saints with works win. 3:18
“Children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and truth.”
James 2:17 says, “Faith without works is dead in itself.”
The body has no words or deeds. because he died
1) Abraham also passed the test of faith through works. (Genesis 22:1-19)
“I will bless you, because you have done this, and have not spared your son, your only son.” Verses 16-17
2) The blessing of the widow of Zarephath, who followed Elijah’s words even in difficult circumstances (1 Kings 17:8-16)
“He went and did as Elijah had said, and he and Elijah and his household ate for many days.”
Even if you promise to do the same when you hear the word, when you go and see it, things don't go your way.
Conclusion/ The church is the place where we overcome the powers of Hades (Matthew 16:18), and those who overcome the church life will eat the fruit of the tree of life in paradise in heaven, gain the authority to rule all nations, and live eternally with the Lord (Rev 2). below)
