Title: The King as God Saw

Contents

Bible Text: 1 Samuel 16:1

The king seen by God

All the animals gathered in the animal kingdom and decided to elect a king. Animals who wanted to become kings performed their tricks, and a monkey that could dance was chosen. The monkey was thrilled to be chosen as king. The fox said congratulations to the monkey and asked to go with him, saying he wanted to treat him. When I followed, I saw a chunk of meat set on it. I quickly asked, what is this? it's caught in a trap. The more he struggled to escape, the more constricted he became to death. The fox laughs at the monkey and can't even protect itself. What kind of king is that? Did you see only the meat and no traps? You said that you are not a king and left the place.

God was looking for a man who would succeed King Saul. God saw the king in Jesse's house. He had eight sons, one of whom was the Crown Prince.

He is a person who is faithful to reality.

God has found a king in the sheepfold. “And he chose David his servant, and took them from the sheepfolds, and brought them out of the flocks to feed his people, Jacob, and his possession, Israel” (Psalm 78:70-71).

God compared David working in a sheepfold. He was a shepherd shepherd. What he was doing was a lowly, lowly job. God does not ignore that person because he is doing something lowly. God chooses the lowly and lowly and uses them preciously.

David was the youngest of eight sons of Jesse. “All the brothers returned home, but the young David was alone in the field, guarding the sheep” (1 Samuel 16:11). You saw how faithfully he took care of his father's flock. The greatest achievements in a person's life are usually achieved with mediocre qualities. Diligence and effort in caring for the sheep are qualities that God sees.

It is important to take responsibility for what you do and to work diligently and persistently. What a person needs is not genius. These are ordinary qualities such as sincerity, concern, commitment, and perseverance. Genius is the product of hard work.

Whenever Newton was asked how he made such an extraordinary discovery about the discovery of universal gravitation, he replied, "Because I always thought of it." “Set your heart on your herd” (Proverbs 27:23). You have to be someone who focuses on your work.

There was a very smart young man in Jeongju, North Pyongan Province, who was so poor that he lived as a maid. However, he did not be pessimistic about his situation or neglect his work. Every day he emptied his master's urinal, wiped it clean, and brought it into the room. When the owner saw him, he thought it was a waste of time to be a servant, and he made him study. After graduating from Soongsil School, he became the principal of Osan School. He is a famous nationalist and independence activist, Jo Man-sik. He said that he taught his students that the secret to success was to sharpen his syllabus.

David put his heart on the beast when he struck the beast, and focused on the affairs of the country when he ruled the country. He threw stones as hard as he could, and played the harp as hard as he could. Integrity is the basis of trust. These are the qualities that make them personally evaluated before God and before people. “He who is faithful in a very little thing is also faithful in much, and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is also unrighteous in much” (Luke 16:10)

He is a person after God's heart.

“...I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, and will do all my will” (Acts 13:22). What are the conditions that can satisfy God?

What did David have in God's heart? When looking at people, God does not look at the outward appearance, but at the heart and heart.

“The Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his height; I have forsaken him; I do not look like men; man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). , points to the heart. Determination thinking values.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23). God saw the true meaning of a man named David. You saw his sign. David guarded his heart well. He gave his heart to God, not wasting it in vain.

“Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:5). The heart is the emotion. He loved God with all his heart. To love God with all your soul is to love God with all your soul. The core function of the soul is “will.” With all your might, power here is the power of thought. There is a record that David danced with all his might before the Lord (2 Samuel 6:14). Even though he danced, he did it with all his might. That's what God liked.

“Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly, as to the Lord and not to men” (Colossians 3:23).

No matter what you do, those who do it with all their heart and with all their strength will succeed. That is the 2% that makes successful people, happy people.

Nippon Computer, which started in 1973 in a three-pyeong rural warehouse, has 140 affiliates and 130,000 employees, has grown to KRW 8 trillion in annual sales. The founders of this company have all their academic backgrounds to graduate from a technical vocational school. The management philosophy and management method of this company is reckless and pre-modern. “Work twice as much as others, work without a weekend” or “thinking about taking a break from the topic of new hires” is something like this.

The company's founder, President Nagamori, lists five things that people don't trust. First, employees who run away when the company is tough. Second, employees who are often ill, rest and be late, and are not conscious of health care. Third, an employee who easily criticizes others. Fourth, the temple with a clumsy ending. Fifth, employees who speak easily and cannot keep their promises.

President Nagamori views the entrance exam in three ways. The first is the Speaking Out Loud Test, which was conducted in 1976. From what he has experienced, it is generally said that people with a loud voice do the job well. Not only is he confident, but he is also quick to correct mistakes. Second, it is a fast eating test. It was conducted in 1978. There were 160 applicants, and we prepared a packed lunch in advance. The side dishes are dried squid, anchovies, and bean jam. 33 people passed in the order they ate quickly. Third, cleaning the toilet. Starting in 1975, new employees clean toilets for about a year. The idea is that if you do well at the bottom, you will be able to do everything well. We do trivial things and we choose the ones we like. We have to make ourselves a sensible person.

A person who has been moved by the Holy Spirit.

God had Samuel anoint David's head with oil. “I have found my servant David, and I have anointed him with my holy oil; my hand will be with him, and he will strengthen him, and my arm will make him strong” (Psalm 89:20-21).

God chose David to be king. But he knows that he cannot do what God wants him to do with his human qualities alone. Leaders need supernatural powers. It is not through the power of man, but through the Spirit of God. “You know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and he went about doing good” (Acts 10:38).

"Samuel said to Jesse, "Are all your sons here?" Jesse said, "The youngest is still there, and he keeps the sheep in the field." Samuel said to Jesse, "Send and bring him, for I will not sit down at the table until he comes here." So he sent and brought him back, and the Lord said, "This is the one I am seeking. Arise, anoint him. Samuel took a horn of oil and poured it on him. From that day on, David was greatly moved by the Spirit of the Lord." (1 Samuel 16:11-) 13) The phrase “greatly moved by the Spirit of the Lord” means “God has breathed out”. Inspiration, only when you receive the breath that God breathes, you can become a king that God is pleased with. Jesus breathed out and said to receive the Holy Spirit.

Samuel anointed David, and the anointed David was greatly moved by the Spirit of Jehovah. It was the Spirit of God that moved David. His words and actions were governed by the Spirit of God.

After David was moved by the Spirit of God, his transformed appearance became “a man of courage, virtuosity, and speech” (1 Samuel 16:18). After receiving the Spirit of God, David became a powerful warrior. Being fluent means being sensible in everything and being careful with what you say.

The Holy Spirit speaks well. Even Stephen spoke with wisdom and the Holy Spirit, and no one could resist him (Acts 6:10). President Obama was also elected president because he was good at speaking and writing well. He is a broad-minded person who pulls everyone from the center without leaning left or right, and everyone is watching with anticipation. One accurate and right word changes the world.

After the Spirit of God came upon David, he was given the power to maintain the morality worthy of the status of a king and to perform his duties as a king. Now, I was only 15 years old when I was anointed by Samuel and moved by the Spirit of God. David was 30 years old when he became king of Israel. He was chosen and qualified as king from an early age.

Spiritual is not easily defined, but it is easy to tell if it is or is not. Spirituality is an unconscious influence. The ability to change the mood.

The king who God sees is a person who is faithful to reality. A person who trains himself to make the most of the opportunities given to him. The king that God is looking for is a person pleasing to God. Company employees are the boss's favorites. God anointed the man he judged to be king. It was the pouring out of the Spirit of God. David heard the Spirit of God and drank. What you say, think, and do makes you a great leader. We can too. Even saints have a past. Even sinners have hope. There is no saint without a past, no sinner without a future. Anyone can become a new creation in Christ.
