The kingdom that belongs to God (Ob 1:17-21)
I. There is a place to escape on Mt. Zion (Phase 17)
“Mount Zion” means Jerusalem where God’s reign is strongly embodied and enforced, and Mount Zion symbolizes the church.
“There is someone who will take refuge in that mountain” means that we are saved from judgment and that God’s chosen people are gathered together. In this way, gathering God's chosen people to Mount Zion is the fulfillment of the promise of salvation. This means that God's salvation will come when the people of Israel are invaded by powers. In a spiritual sense, this salvation indicates that the church in tribulation will receive God's salvation and show off the vigor and courage of the victors.
The saints who escape to the church are those who have fulfilled the promise of salvation through Jesus Christ and enjoy eternal life here. Longing for Zion Zion is a city of refuge from the troubles of the world. It is the place where the salvation of the Lord comes and the victory of God is. God has promised to bless us and to bless us through Zion. Get close to Zion, that is, the church. The church is a channel of blessing. You can't be blessed if you leave the church. can't be bothered When we take the church as our mother, we are worshiping the powerful God as our father. Today, the Zion-in church is a happy community of saved people. It is a happy family and church with the love of spiritual parents.
“The mountain will be holy” means that the holiness of the Lord will be there when God comes down on Mount Zion, the center of Israel. This indicates that the New Testament church will flourish. The church is a fortress from which the powers of Hades cannot harm, and a stronghold to escape. Those who escape from this place will be saved. I hope that you will be close to, love, and serve the Church, the body of the Lord.
Ⅱ. There is a recovery of the enterprise, and the opposing forces will be destroyed (17th~18th)
The prophet Obadiah prophesied that on the day the Israelites were victorious, the inheritance God had given as an inheritance would be restored.
When God restores the inheritance of the people of Israel, it is said that the scattered people of Israel will also restore the inheritance of God occupied by the Gentiles (19:20).
Verse 18 shows the house of Jacob and the house of Joseph with fire and flame, while the house of Esau with stubble, so that Israel will be revived more intensely, but in contrast to Esau, it will be completely destroyed. The people of Israel refer to spiritual Israel, us who have been saved. God's people who belong to Christ and are saved will inherit the inheritance of Christ in the future, just as they will restore all the inheritance of Abraham.
Saints! At the end of the world, God's chosen people will enjoy the promised inheritance, but the forces that oppose God will be destroyed without a trace. While we live in this world, sometimes we suffer from various pains, but we sing the triumphant song of victory through complete victory with Jesus Christ.
Verse 19 speaks of the southern kingdom of Judea eventually unifying the restored national sovereignty (North and South) throughout the country. This refers to the heavenly movement that will take place through Jesus Christ, and the promise originally given to Jacob (Gen. 28:14) when Israel is restored in the future. show that it will be accomplished. The heart of the earth emerging here is the future heavenly movement it symbolizes (J. Ridderbos). At that time, we will restore our lost inheritance and reign with the Lord. Spiritual Israel regains the lost inheritance and the enemies are destroyed. The end of our saints is a victory, a happy ending. You will enjoy eternal life in that heaven.
Verse 20, like the previous verse, refers to the land that the Israelites who had been taken into captivity would occupy. Their stories are the stories of our saints who are spiritual Israel. We all have a day to find lost businesses. God guarantees this.
There is judgment on the mountain in III. (21)
This verse is closely related with the words “Esau and Mount”. The prophet Obadiah prophesied that God's chosen people Israel would judge proud Edom. God's judgment is decisive and final. Obadiah the prophet speaks of the judgment of Edom, which God will judge, in verse 18. The house of Jacob and the house of Joseph say that they will become one at the time of judgment, and after judging Edom, a kingdom that belongs to God will be established by the holy people of God.
Here, “country” refers to the entire world. In other words, all worldly kingdoms will be overthrown and the kingdom of God will be realized. These words show the appearance of the judgment of Jesus Christ that will take place in the future and the completion of the kingdom of God. In the last days, God will give the saved saints ultimate victory, and God will use the saved saints as judges to ridicule God's people and throw the wicked ones who suffered persecution and suffering into hellfire, leaving nothing left behind. will be judged by you (Matthew 3:12).
Mount Zion is God's eternal dwelling place and God's throne that rules over the whole world. The Sovereign of Mount Zion is God, and from there he rules the whole world. God will set up a ruler for His people, but God is sovereign over all things. God carries out his judgments through his agents. No one can stand against the power of God.
While God's people wear a physical body and live on this earth, they may experience the same afflictions and tribulations as people do, or they may be despised and ridiculed by the world because of their faith. However, the reality of these people is to reward the day when God recalls the kingdom of God through the second coming of Jesus on this earth. In the future, God's people will take on the task of governing the kingdom of God together with the Lord, and those who oppose God and those who oppose God's people will be judged.
Therefore, as God's people, we hope for the crown that God will give us at the time of judgment on the last day, and we hope that we will become saints who fight the good fight of faith (April 13, 2008).
