Title: The Law of Victory Humility
Contents
There will be many philosophical views on how to live life the wisest way. The shape of our Christian life can be summed up in one word to resemble Jesus Christ.
Paul said to the Philippian believers in verse 5, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” I believe that if we emulate the heart of Christ, we will become the most ideal religious people and those who live our lives right. As we approach the new year, I would like to share the first message of the new year under the theme of humility as the law of victory.
1. Being at eye level with everyone is humility.
6-7 “He was in the form of God, but did not consider equality with God to be robbery, 7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, and being made in the likeness of men.”
By all we mean both those who are at the top of intelligence, economics, and various cultures, and those who are at the lowest level.
As it is said that the Lord is with God according to the word of the text, the Lord is in the confession of Thomas,
John 20:28 "Thomas answered and said, "My Lord and my God." Based on the fact that he became God the Son and became like men on this earth, we can give to everyone, no matter how good we are, no matter how good we are. It is seen that the first thing we see together is that we show the virtue of humility.
The recent bipolar phenomenon in Korean society is fundamentally because the world lives under the spiritual control of the devil and lives with the bipolar phenomenon.
The devil is his personality of pride.
Ephesians 2:2 “In those days you walked in them, following the customs of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience.”
John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and cannot stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. for he is a wretch and has become the father of lies.”
On the other hand, the Lord Himself said,
Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest”
When Jesus came as king, the scene was staged as he humbly rode into the city on a colt so that it was easy for people to accept him.
Matthew 21:5 "Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Your king is coming to you, humble and riding on a donkey, the foal of a yoke'" (Zechariah 9:9).
Our Lord has become a symbol of humility for us. Good stories about humility are especially heard in the East, and the human humility shown in the Analects of Confucius cannot be compared with the level of humility of our Lord.
Although man cannot be as high as God, the Lord is equal to God, but as in verse 7, he became like a man and came to our global village and participated in the work of our people.
Therefore, in our philosophy of humility, we should think first of what we can do with others.
2. The attitude of being a servant is the humility of Christianity
7“But he emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, and became like men.”
The Greek word for servant here is dou'lo" (doulos), who has authority in all things, but who submits to the master's will. It is also
In the text, to say that the Lord became a servant means that he is a servant of God who came to obey God the Father before he became a servant of man.
The society at the time when Paul was using this word was a Jewish society under Roman rule, and he probably used the term doulos while thinking of the concept of a servant.
This means that our Jesus, whom Paul understands, is the one who obeyed and obeyed God just like a servant at the time. That is why our saints are like us.
Here we need to look at and be aware of two cases of the humble servant. One is that all of us, whether clergy or lay people, must be those who obey God's will as God's servants toward the world. Another is that we must become servants to men and serve them.
Our Lord prayed with blood and sweat for the Father's will to be done, came to this earth for the Father's will, spoke only for the Father's will, and did not gain his own glory. At the same time, he said that he came to serve people while washing the disciples' feet.
Matthew 20:28 “For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
As a Christian, what is the attitude of living well in this proud 21st century society? In the new year, we are talking about the secret of the victorious life of true believers.
It is saying that living a life of obedience and service as servants to God and people in the likeness of the Lord is the right life and can bring true victory.
In recent years, we can see that the humanistic concept of the servant has been strengthened so that it is understood only centered on people and the tension in God's revelatory request has been removed.
We need the attitude of a servant who first seeks God's approval as those who seek his kingdom and his righteousness first.
In other words, you have to take the attitude of a servant in the order that you can get approval in the church first and then in the world.
If we live people-centered, we become pro-Japanese who betray God as we did during the Japanese colonial rule, or if we focus on human culture, it becomes like the gospel is the way to live in the world.
3. It is to empty oneself and to be obedient to the point of death
8 “And being found in human form, he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of a cross.”
Jesus died not because of incompetence, but because he rose again and died for the will of God for glory.
It is rare for a person to live life with death in mind. Jesus is the giver of life, and he is not fit for death.
John 11:25 “Jesus said to them, I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live.”
John 14:6 "Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me."
So even if you are loyal,
Revelation 2:10 “Do not be afraid of the afflictions that you are about to suffer, and behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, to be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. I will give you”
Our Lord dared to be our friend and said,
John 15:15 “From now on I will no longer call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing, and I have called you friends, because all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
John 11:11 "After he had said these things, he said again, Our friend Lazarus is asleep, but I am going to wake him up."
However, establishing a friendship with the Lord is not simply a concept of our classmates, classmates, or social friends. At least,
John 15:13-14 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends; 14 ye are my friends if you do what I command you."
The friend whom the Lord spoke of is speaking of a relationship where you can even give your life to a friend in the Lord's will. It is not easy to give even our lives, even between you and me, brothers and sisters.
However, if you can learn the humility of the Lord, who even gave your life, and be prepared to lay down your life for your brother, then you are living the best life as a Christian.
In conclusion, we want to realize the Lord's final glory at the price of humility.
9-11 “Therefore God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.
11 Every tongue has confessed that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
As we know, there are many great people in the world and many people who made a noise in an era, but there is no one who is consistently glorified for two thousand years like our Lord.
Blessings and glory follow those who resemble the Lord and serve God and the world.
Proverbs 22:4 “The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord is riches and glory and life.”
We are living in an age of pride. There is no fool in the world who wants me to be humble and to exalt others. Everyone has a good taste, so she is a princess and a prince, full of pride. However, the true victory in life is to live really well only when we receive the great glory that Christ received through humility.
1 Peter 5:5 “You young people, in the same way submit to your elders, and all of you gird around with humility toward one another, for God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Proverbs 18:12 "The pride of a man's heart is the beginning of destruction, but humility before honor."
In this new year, if you have the humility of the Lord Jesus Christ, a well-respected saint, a servant and a servant, and a humility that is devoted to death, I believe that the day will come when he will be glorified no matter what he does.
In the name of the Lord, I bless and encourage you and me to be victorious with humility this year.
