Ecclesiastes 2:1-11.
1 “I said in my heart, Come, I will test you, and I will please you.
You said, “You shall have pleasure.” Behold, this is also vanity.” 2 I spoke of laughter, saying, It is madness.
Of joy he said, What good is this? 3 I pondered in my heart, What must I do to make my heart wise?
How should I please my body with alcohol while governing?
What is the life of the people under the world while they live their lives?
lest I hold on to my foolishness until I find out if it is good, 4 I have made great my work, and I have built houses for myself and planted vineyards 5 I have planted gardens and orchards, and planted trees in the midst of them, 6 I have planted trees for myself. I dug pools to water the forests I grew up in, 7 I bought male and female slaves, and I made a house for myself
Begotten servants, more than all who were in Jerusalem before me
I have more cattle and flocks, 8 and have amassed for myself silver and gold, and the treasures of kings and of the lands,
And I have many singers, men and women, and wives with whom men rejoice.
And my wisdom abides with me. 10 I do not forbid anything that my eye desires; I do not forbid anything.
I have not stopped my heart from rejoicing.
For my heart rejoiced in all my labors.
This is my share for all my toil. 11 After that I have considered all the work that I have done with my hands and all that I have labored.
It is all vanity, a chasing after the wind, and nothing under the sun.
* Everything in the world disappears. But three things do not pass away, they are eternal.
1. God does not disappear.
Hebrews 13:8-8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever 2. The word of God does not pass away.
In Matthew 24:35
35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. 3. Those who do the will of God will not pass away.
In 1 John 2:16-17
16 For all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.
All are not from the Father, but from the world. 17 "The world and its lusts have passed away, but the will of God is
He who does it abides forever." Matthew 7:21-23 21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven.
Only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven will enter. 22 On that day many said to me, “Lord, Lord, let us go in your name.
Prophet and cast out demons in your name
Have I not done many mighty works in your name? 23 At that time I said to them plainly, I never knew you.
You who practice lawlessness, depart from me.
* The life that God remembers is a blessed one.
In Matthew 25:19-21
19 After a long time the master of the servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The one who had received five talents brought five more talents and said,
Master, you have given me five talents, behold
I have left five more talents. 21 His master said, Well done, good and faithful servant.
You have been faithful over a few things; I will entrust you with many things.
Enter into the joy of your master.
