Title: The Life of Faith God Wants
Contents
Therefore, we can learn well from the text how God's joy is for the children of God who have been saved through the text to live.
1. It is a fact that God wants His children to live holy lives.
(1: ) "Isaac called Jacob and blessed him, and he begged him, saying, You are the daughters of the Canaanites.
Do not take a wife in the midst of it, but get up and go to Paddan Aram to the house of Bethuel your grandfather
So take a wife there from among the daughters of your maternal uncle Laban.”
It is a fact that God wants us, the descendants of Jacob, as well as Jacob, who received the inheritance of eternal life, to live a life separate from the people of this world, such as the people of Canaan, who were ruled by their sins.
God spoke to the Israelites through Moses in the wilderness.
“Be holy, because I am holy.”
Even when the Israelites settled in the land of Canaan, God wanted them to be holy in all areas of their lives. When mold grows on your clothes or scabs appear on the soil or stones in your house, you have to clean it. And the unclean animal was not to be eaten, and anyone who touched it was allowed to enter the camp only after performing the ritual of cleansing and becoming unclean for one day. You can see that God wants the saints to live a holy life in all their lives like this.
We wish for a holy life, but we can clearly see from our religious life that it is not so easy. Therefore, in order to live a holy life, above all else, we must take good care of our words, thoughts and eyes.
(Ephesians 5:4) "There is no need for filthiness, foolish speech, or slanderous words; turn and give thanks.
la"
(Proverbs 4:23) “More than anything else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
The above words show how important our thinking heart, seeing eyes, and gracious speech are for a holy life.
Also, it is very important to live a life of godliness and prayer while staying close to the Word of God. God's word is like soap that washes away the dirt from our souls. And the tears of prayer are as precious as the water that cleanses our soapy hearts. So, because the heart of the saints who are always close to the word of God and kneel in prayer are moved with the love and tears of Jesus, the holy life is not difficult, but joy and joy.
2. He wants to live a life that is pleasing to God first.
Esau and Isaac send Jacob to Paddan-aram to marry him, and to learn later that they are not happy with the daughter of Canaan. Esau committed this foolish sin to please his father Isaac, not knowing that by ignoring God's Word, he was obedient to God's Word.
Of course, we must live a life that makes our neighbors and others happy. However, if it is not pleasing to God, we should choose what pleases God, even if it causes some inconvenience and temporary pain to people. It is because we believe that this choice will ultimately give us the grace to make everyone happy.
(Hebrews 11:6) “Without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must be
and he must also believe that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him."
We must believe that God is a good God who delights in those who obey and rewards those who obey him no matter what the cost.
Saints!
Through today's Word, I pray in the name of the Lord that you will glorify God by living a holy life and a life that pleases only the Lord, and that you will live a life that receives good rewards from God.
