Title: The Life of Jesus
Contents
Many Christians have faith but do not live by faith. Going to church and living by faith are different. Usually, we take a drunken and prodigal life as a problem, but not the worries of life. Rather, it asks, “How can I live without worry?” But the criterion that distinguishes whether a person lives by faith or not is concern. The opposite of faith is not unbelief, but anxiety and worry.
1 Peter 5:7 “Cast your anxieties on the Lord, for he cares for you.”
We want to cast all our anxieties on the Lord. But the problem is that you can't easily leave it to Jesus. No matter how hard you try without worrying, your worries will not go away anytime soon. Anxiety doesn't go away with effort, but when you believe in something bigger than it. Therefore, if you do not fully believe in God, your worries will not disappear.
We find it difficult to cast all our worries on God, but we easily cast our worries on money. It depends on how much money you have in your pocket. There is a difference between when you have 1,000 won and when you have 10,000 won. If so, it will be even more different when you have a bankbook of millions of won or tens of thousands of won. In other words, because we believe in the power of money, our worries are placed on it. Imagine if we had 1 billion won in our bank account that we could use at any time. When that happens, our worries disappear. This is evidence that we say we believe in God, but in reality we believe in money more.
Saul and David both faced Goliath in front of them, and their attitudes toward each other were different. Saul was afraid even though he believed in God, but David believed in God and was not afraid of Goliath at all. It was just a different belief.
Romans 14:23 “He who doubts and eats is condemned, because it is not according to the faith; everything that is not according to the faith is sin.”
Many believers say they believe in God, but the truth is, they depend more on wealth, fame, power, and knowledge than on God. You should know that this is why God is so silent in our lives.
The faith that did not change me is no longer faith!
1 John 5:4 “Everyone who is born of God overcomes the world, and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.”
What is the way a Christian can overcome the world? it is belief
It is because of faith that believers can always be thankful even in the midst of difficulties. In early spring, when the cold weather comes, no one prepares for winter again just because the weather is harsh. According to the principle of the seasons, we believe that spring will come regardless of the temperature, prepare for spring and prepare for the new semester. It is a kind of certainty. This is how we live by faith in God. “God is omnipotent. That God loves us until he gave his only begotten Son. He comes into us by the Holy Spirit. You have given me a promise. We will not give you a test you cannot handle. All things will work together for good.” Believing in this, no matter what difficulties you face, you are bold and grateful. As if a little son with his father had neither worries nor fears.
In difficult times, we must stand in front of the truth even more. The truth is that Jesus is in us. When we look to Jesus, who is always with us, our faith naturally grows. Anxiety and fear disappear. Faith is a miracle and power. If you truly believe in God, all your problems will disappear.
James 1:2-3 “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you face trials of various kinds, for you know that the trial of your faith produces perseverance.”
Why are temptations a trial of faith?
The test is a test of faith. To overcome the test is to believe in God every moment and live. Conversely, being tested means that you have doubted God. When trials are prolonged, many believers doubt God's love. Those who live by faith must believe that God's love for them has already been confirmed on the cross. God's love should not be measured solely by what is going well and what is comfortable. The missionaries who go out to remote places with the love of God and are ready to die always live a life full of God's love, but unlike their passion for faith, the road is rough, lonely, and difficult.
How, then, should a Christian deal with the problem of anxiety? If you want to live without worry, you need to know exactly what the problem is. That way you don't have to worry about it. No matter how much anxiety one has, no one deliberately tries to be anxious. Worry happens automatically. Most of what happens spontaneously because of our evil nature is evil. Don't anger and swear words come out on their own? What are your concerns? This is also an automatic feeling. That is, worry also comes from a fallen nature.
In 1 Peter 5:7, casting your anxieties on the Lord does not make an effort to cast your anxieties on the Lord, but as you experience the good God and the abundant God, your worries are entrusted to you. When you know God only by knowledge, you never leave your worries to God. The moment you experience God, your worries are automatically entrusted to you.
How can I live without worries?
1. When anxiety arises, we must look to the Lord until the anxiety disappears.
Hebrews 12:2 “Let us look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith”
In Luke 10:38-42, Martha could not stand it when she saw her sister Mary, who sat in front of Jesus and listened only to the word. “Jesus, look at Mary.” what kind of face was it? intonation? Why did this result? Because of Martha's concern. “Martha, you are troubled and troubled about many things”, that is, “worrying” is a bigger problem.
2. When anxiety arises, we should pray instead of worry.
If you think of something to do when a problem arises, do it and then pray. And then trust and trust in God. What is clear is that you shouldn't worry. We think of worrying as caring, even as love. But worry is neither love nor concern. Rather, worry makes the situation more difficult.
At the wedding feast in Cana in John 2, Jesus' mother Mary said, "This house has run out of wine," and entrusted it to Jesus. There, everyone experienced the miracle of turning water into wine. That's exactly what it does.
3. When anxiety arises, you must first work hard for the kingdom of God.
Matthew 6:33 “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
These verses are not about working hard for the kingdom of God when our circumstances and circumstances improve, when we can afford it. Even in the midst of a stormy life, if you go forward with faith looking only at the Lord, it is a promise that the Lord will know and fulfill all these things.
