Title/ Life of the Elected Saints
Text/ Colossians 3:12-17
Saints are holy children chosen by God.
To be chosen means that God has specially chosen you out of a multitude of people.
(John 15:16) “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you.”
(1 Thessalonians 4:7) “For God hath not called us to unclean, but to sanctify.”
The elect must live like the elect, but in today's text, we are clothed with compassion, mercy, humility, gentleness, and patience, and the clothes we must wear are different clothes.
A priest must wear priestly clothes.
(Exodus 28:2) "Make holy garments for Aaron your brother, that it may be glorified and beautiful."
Saints must wear saints' clothes
(1 Timothy 2:9) "In the same way, women also wear modest clothing."
In heaven, you must wear heavenly clothes.
(Rev 7:9) "After these things I saw a great multitude, which no one could number, from every nation, kindred, people, and tongue, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands."
Those who have been washed from their sins by the blood of Jesus Christ stand before God to praise and worship for ever and ever (Rev 7:13-14).
Clothing can also indicate a person's identity or occupation.
(Proverbs 7:10) “At that time a crafty girl dressed as a prostitute met her.”
Avoid revealing or overly flashy clothing
I hope that you will become saints who take good care of your family like a virtuous woman, do not be lazy, do your best to be praised by your family, and grow laughter in the future.
(Proverbs 31:25) “Let power and honor be clothed with laughter in the future.”
1, We belong to God.
(Isaiah 43:1-4) “Now the LORD, who created you, speaks, O Jacob, now speaks the LORD, who created you, O Israel, the one who made you now speaks: Do not be afraid, I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine.”
When you go to the mart, there are many items, but you don't have to pay until you pick the one you like and put it in your cart.
It doesn't belong to me until I go through the cash register. After going through the checkout and paying each price, it becomes my property, and from then on I have to manage it.
Verse 2: I will be with you when I pass through the waters.
When you cross the river, the water will not sink you.
You will not be burned when you walk in the fire.
We belong to God, and God protects us from danger.
Verse 3 I gave Egypt as your ransom... in your place.
Because I bought it with the price of the sacrifice of my only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem me.
Verse 4 I have counted you precious and honored, and I have loved you,
Now we are precious to live for the glory of God (Isaiah 43:7)
They are noble people who will please God through praise (Isaiah 43:21)
2, the appearance before it became God's possession
(John 8:44) “You are of your father the devil, so do you also want to do the desires of your father? He was a murderer from the beginning, and cannot stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own. for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
When the affiliation changes, behavior and life must also change.
3, He wants to be fully preserved until the Lord comes.
(1 Thessalonians 5:23) “May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
In order for the spirit, soul, and body to be preserved without blemish until the moment they meet the Lord, we must pray continually in the Holy Spirit and give ourselves to God through devotion and service.
We must put on the garments of compassion, mercy, and long-suffering.
