Bible Text: 2 Chronicles 12:9-16 Title: Rehoboam's Business Card
Rehoboam, king of the southern kingdom, first
He was a well-respected person. But King Rehoboam
Pride in lust, forsake the law, and worship idols
He did evil in the sight of the Lord and was invaded by King Shishak of Egypt.
Revelation 2:4-5 says, “I have this against you.
you left your first love
Therefore, remember where you have fallen, repent and do the first deeds.
If you do not and do not repent, I will come to you and
I will remove your candlestick from its place.”
He told me to repent and do the first thing.
1. There was a good job. (Verses 12-13)
“Because Rehoboam humbled himself, and there were good works in Judah,
The LORD turned his wrath and did not destroy them all.
King Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem and reigned.
Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign.
Jerusalem, which the LORD chose out of all the tribes of Israel,
And he reigned seventeen years in the city where his name was placed.
Rehoboam's mother's name was Naamara, an Ammonite woman.
2. But he was not zealous to seek Jehovah. (verse 14)
Not seeking God is a great sin.
Isaiah 55:6 says, “Seek the Lord while he may be found.
Call on him while he is near." Jeremiah 29:13
“If you seek and seek me with all your heart, you will find me,” he said.
3. The war with the northern kingdom of Israel did not stop. (verse 15)
It should be understood that war is not only costly, but also economically, mentally, and costly.
