Title: The Lord Looking at Me Text: Luke 19:5
Zacchaeus, who appears in Luke 19, is a man who really lived a life of extremes. He was a person who never seemed to change. He was a man who had given up on living like a human for a long time. At that time, Israel was a Roman colony. What did people think of tax collectors back then? I thought that he was an evil bastard in the world who clings to his enemies and sucks the blood of his own people. The fact that the Jews succeeded as a publican means that they threw away all of their race, blood, conscience, and conscience in order to survive. It's been a life that's almost irreversible. Then one day, Zacchaeus happened to meet the Lord. The Lord did not speak long words to Zacchaeus. You ended up with just two sentences. Zacchaeus fell in love with the Lord just by hearing these short words of the Lord. That is the message of today's text. Luke 19:5 "When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house."
1. You are the Lord who knows my name.
2. The Lord looking at us tells us to come down.
Luke 19:5 In today's text, the Lord looked at Zacchaeus and said, "Zacchaeus, come down quickly." The word 'quickly' here means urgency. This is a special command that speaks of urgency. Don't waste your time and come down quickly. It means don't hesitate. Come down from the position of pride, come down from the position of high greed, and come down from the position of arrogance. It is to give an encounter to those who come down. Everyone is a sinner who points fingers and curses, but the Lord calls him to Himself. Zacchaeus had no one to call, but no one wants to meet him, but now the Lord is calling him. He calls you to come to the Lord. He is calling you to come down to build Zacchaeus' broken life.
3. The Lord sees us and wants to stay with us.
