Old Testament
17. You afflict the LORD with your words, and say, “How have we tormented the LORD?” For you say, “Everyone who does evil is good in the eyes of the LORD, and it is pleasing to him,” and you say, God of justice. Where are you?
1. Behold, I will send my messenger, saith the LORD of hosts, and he will prepare the way before me, and the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to his temple, and the messenger of the covenant you have longed for will come.
2. Who can meet the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appears? He will be like a refiner's fire and like the bleacher's lye.
3. And he shall sit like a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the children of Levi, and he will refine them as gold and silver, and they shall offer righteous sacrifices to the LORD.
4. At that time the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the LORD, as in the past and in ancient times.
5. I am coming on you for judgment, to divination, to adulterers, to those who swear falsely, to the wages of the laborers, to oppress the widow and the orphan, to oppress the stranger, to those who do not fear me. I will testify, says the LORD of hosts.

sermon
Many people ask The life of a righteous believer should be smooth and prosperous, so why is strength and prosperity given to the unrighteous in this world? Conversely, why should the righteous suffer from suffering and poverty? Even in the days of the prophet Malachi, people sarcastically asked God: “Whoever does all evil finds good in the eyes of the LORD, and is a pleasure to him, and says, Where is the God of justice?” (Mal 2:17).
Here is God's answer. There is a gift from God to us who are waiting for the day of the Lord.
1. The Lord will send the messenger of the covenant. Verse 1 “The messenger of the covenant, which you have longed for, will come” The coming of God was a difficult task for the Israelites who needed to repent. But the Lord will send a messenger to prepare him for his coming, and this is an opportunity for the people to realize their iniquity and turn away.
2. Jehovah will purify the leaders. Verse 3 “He will sit like a refiner and purifier of silver, and he will purify the children of Levi, refining them as gold and silver” Leaders have many responsibilities when the community of God loses its duty and becomes corrupt. God first corrects the leaders.
3. Jehovah will be pleased with us. Verse 4 “Then the offerings of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord.” Those who take lightly the promise of His coming and do not turn from their evil ways will not escape judgment, but they will The devotion of faithful and repentant saints will be gladly accepted.
Many people see the injustice of the world without hope and close their eyes and seek only their own pleasure, but the people of God wait for the day of the Lord to come again, and humbly look at themselves so as not to resemble the world that is contrary to God's justice. . Those who repent by faith in the Lord and repent and become peacemakers will be pleased with the Lord.
