Title: The Mark of Salvation, Baptism
Contents
Baptism itself does not forgive sins, but if we look deeper into the meaning of baptism, it is a kind of faith decision that our old self will die and we will live as a new person. My sinful appearance is gone and I am a new creation in Christ. Baptism is the ceremony that marks the beginning of a new life.
If you know the doctrinal part of what baptism is, it is important to realize what kind of life a baptismal member should live and practice it. These six things are the duties of a baptized church member, or the way of life that a baptized member should live.
The first is the worship life.
The first duty of a Christian is worship. There is nothing more blessed as a creature than to worship before God, the Creator. There is a history of restoration of all other things only when worship is restored in our lives. When worship is restored, we can have correct faith, when worship is restored, the door of prayer is opened, and when worship is restored, we can receive blessings.
The second is the word life.
The Word, the Bible, is the foundation of our faith. To the question of who do we believe in, we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and to the question of what do we believe in, we must say that we believe in the Bible, the word of life that He has given us. God's Word is the standard of our lives. Therefore, you should do your best to read, meditate on, and learn the Word of God diligently.
The third is prayer life.
If the Word is the food of life, prayer is the breath of the soul. If you can't breathe, you die. We must breathe our soul in order for our spirit to live. That is why, no matter how much emphasis is placed on prayer in our religious life, we do not overdo it. When we pray, we receive power, when we pray, we receive answers, and when we pray, we receive solutions to problems. When we pray, the work of meeting the Lord takes place. Prayer becomes the key that unlocks all things, and prayer becomes the channel that opens the gates of heaven.
The fourth is evangelism life.
The people we meet every day are evangelists. The mothers I met at the school parent association, my co-workers, my family and friends, and the supermarket aunt I trade with. The water purifier lady who comes to my house, the Yakult lady… . It is not that there are no people to evangelize, but that we cannot evangelize because we do not have the heart to evangelize.
Now, when I hear about evangelism, I am not getting smaller, but my heart is burning about evangelism, and if I do not evangelize, my soul may not hear the Gospel for the rest of my life and I will die forever. I hope you all have
Fifth is the life of giving.
It is important to make a lot of money, but more importantly, the hole that leaks out unnecessarily should be blocked. No matter how much money you make, if there are many leaking holes, it is nothing. The Lord has to block it, but God will open the door of material things so that we can give more each time we give as well as this kind of grace to come through our material life.
The last and sixth is a life of sharing.
Every day is an opportunity to share. If there is anything that makes a Christian a Christian, it is love. Love is not an ideological one, it is something that must be manifested in our lives.
2009 Fall & Winter, There are several projects for the community, the first of which is to deliver free meals to the elderly without assistance. Through the service of a few volunteers, you are practicing wonderful sharing every Monday. We need more participants here. It would be even better if there is someone who will serve you with a special vehicle.
The second project is an “open English classroom for the local community” that Shin Evan, Shin Yun-jeong, and staff continue to serve very good sharing and service.
The third project is likely to have a briquette delivery business soon. It is a continuous delivery of 30,000 sheets, and we hope that meaningful people will participate in the project to support multicultural families hosted by the Hongcheon Cultural Center.
The fourth project is the kimchi serving business. This fall and winter I tried to serve two institutions. One organization said they would help because they made 1,200 kimchi, but they said that they made kimchi last week without contact. Another institution is the “Shining Garden” (a welfare facility for the elderly) of the night time, which is directly operated by the members of our church. If you say that you will be making kimchi soon, I hope that those who are allowed will join in with a heart to serve the region and share the love of the Lord.
