Title: The Master of Dreams/Ecclesiastes 5:1~4
Content: Master of Dreams
Ecclesiastes 5:1 4, Matthew 2:11 15
Walt Disney, who made Disneyland what it is today, was a cartoonist who illustrated and cartooned for a newspaper in Kansas City, USA. He had dreamed of Disneyland for over 20 years, and at the age of 21 he entered Hollywood and worked hard to make that dream come true. His specific vision was to spread youth culture through films. However, it is said that the time when I dreamed of Disneyland was in the 1930s when I was worried about a day's meal. We are well aware that this period was the Great Depression for the United States. He didn't dream of Disneyland today in good conditions and in good surroundings. He created Mickey Mouse in an environment where he lives with rats, and it has become a reality today that makes his dream come true.
Over the past few decades, Walt Disney Studios has succeeded in reproducing children's favorite fairy tales with a modern twist. When you watch this kind of animated film, you naturally experience one subject organized in your head. That is, as the protagonist moves forward to achieve the things she dreams of and wants, there will always be forces that prevent her from achieving her dreams. However, the main character wanders through hard work and pain, but eventually defeats the obstacles and achieves his dreams.
As we started the new year 2003, we had many dreams. But why are those dreams forgotten and withered? That's because there is a price we have to pay to make our dreams come true, and we don't pay those prices properly.
1. The price paid by the wise men to fulfill their dream of meeting the Messiah
The Magi were astrologers who believed in pagan religions, and their prophetic powers were widely known in the Greek and Roman worlds. Astrology has been greatly developed by the best astrologers living in the Eastern world. The wise men of the East who saw the star of Jesus and followed them were an act that shamed the religious leaders of Israel for not acting on the basis of the truth. The wise men were pagans, but they were chosen by God to reveal Himself.
At that time, traveling from the East to Bethlehem in Judea required walking an enormous distance, and considering the environment in which you had to rest during the day and move while looking at the stars at night, as well as moving in the great temperature change between day and night, it was hard labor. The wise men paid all these costs and followed the stars.
2. The price paid by Mary and Joseph
Mary decided to become a virgin if God wanted her (Matt. 1:24). Mary was a sister who was ready to die if God wanted her to. what a beautiful heart Truly, he showed us how to lay down his life and obey God's will. He went down to Bethlehem with a heavy, full-bodied body, but it was not the warm room that welcomed Mary, but the hut where the cattle lived. How good would it have been? It was an environment in which everything I expected to be offered as a woman was rejected.
Mary's husband, Joseph, was also a payer. He knew in advance that Maria was pregnant, but he was a wonderful believer who forgave Sister Maria by quietly withdrawing. Furthermore, he took a pregnant virgin Mary as his wife and protected and cared for the baby Jesus until the end.
3. What price have you paid for your dreams?
Many people have dreams, but they don't necessarily achieve them. Because you must pay a price for that dream.
Many designers dream of becoming world-class designers and spreading their brand name to the world. But what's interesting is that very few people work at a world-class level for this. I want to go to work as late as possible and leave early. After work, like young people, they want to have a good time with their friends. But if designers' dreams of being the best in the world are to come true, they'll have to do the opposite.
If you get up early in the morning and prepare for at least 3 hours before starting work, and prepare yourself for at least 3 hours after work, your dream will come true. To be able to be on the top of the world, you need not only the talents of the top of the world, but also the efforts of the top of the world. If your talent isn't top-notch, you'll have to work harder.
A young man had a vision for missions. He wanted to fulfill the Christian missionary mission to the Vietnamese people through the factory in Vietnam. So the boss asked his boss: ?쏧s that person good at Vietnamese???"no." ?쏷hen do you speak English well???"no." ?쏷hen what are you going to communicate with them???"I do not know." ?쏡oes that person have experience in the production part???"There is not." Has he prepared anything for production???"There is not." ?쏷hen how can you go to the factory and help or teach them???
Many Christians have their own vision. They see God as the one who bestows special benefits on His children. But God is both a God of love and a God of justice. God did not save us for free, but gave Himself, Jesus Christ, to save us. Also, in the process, he prepared and prophesied the nation of Israel through Abraham, and prepared for 2000 years to fulfill this. When Jesus was 12 years old, he could have started ministry immediately after discussing with the most outstanding teachers of the law at the time in the temple, but he waited until he was fully ready to do God's work around the age of 30.
If you have a dream, you need to prepare accordingly. You also have to pay for it. If you have big dreams, you have to prepare big. If you want a high position, you have to prepare a lot. To do great things, you need to be well prepared. Your expectations and your preparations should match.
