Title: The meaning of Christmas (John 03:16)
Content Christmas is a special day to commemorate the day that Jesus was born. John 3:16 explains the meaning of Christmas well.
一. It is the day that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
God is a God of love. So he loves the world. Among them, He loved human beings who were created in the image of God and were created as the primates of all things. However, because man sinned, his relationship with God was cut off.
This is called spiritual death.
There are three types of death in Christianity.
(1) The relationship with God has been severed. Genesis 2:17 says, "You shall not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day you eat of it you will surely die." It is a spiritual death in which the sinner dies.
(2) Death is when the relationship between our soul and body is severed. The soul comes from God and returns to God, and the body comes from the dust and returns to the dust, which is called death. It is a determined law that all people are cut off from their relationship with God and are in sin, and that they should die once.
(3) Revelation 21:8 says that our souls and bodies will “have part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” We are not worthy of God's love, and although we have the name of being alive, we are actually dead. God loved us who were dead in our sins and trespasses.
Romans 5:6 says, "In our weakness, Christ died for the ungodly according to the promise." To save us who are ungodly and weak, Jesus came to this earth and died on the cross for us. Romans 5:8 says, “God demonstrates his love for us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:10 says, “When we were enemies, having been reconciled to God through the death of his Son.” This is the meaning of Christmas.
1. God has loved us with a preemptive love.
In all religions, people go to God. However, in our Christianity, God loved us and gave his only begotten Son, and this only begotten Son is God. It is the word. The Word became flesh and came among us. That day is Christmas Day. In Christianity, God came to us.
In Genesis 3:9, after Adam sinned, he hid among the trees. Then he asked, "Adam, where are you?" "Adam" means "man". "Adam, where are you?" is the voice that calls you. God has visited us more than 1,900 times.
God's love for us does not mean that we first loved God. John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you may go and bear fruit, and that your fruit may abide, that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will receive it. “He said. In John 6:44, it is said in John 6:44 that God has brought us to Jesus as we come to believe in God. God has loved us preeminently. 1 John 4:10 says, "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that God loved us and sent his Son as the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:19 says, "We love because he first loved us." God first loved us.
2. God loves us with universal love.
All religions are subject to temporal and regional restrictions. Judaism believes that God only loves the chosen Jews. But Galatians 3:28 says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, male or female, for all are one in Christ Jesus.” He loved everyone regardless of racial differences between the old and the young, the rich and the poor. Christianity can be believed by anyone.
3. God loved us with a sacrificial love.
He loved with a love that sacrificed his only begotten Son. This sacrifice is not an ordinary sacrifice. It was a sacrifice to die on a cross. He wore a crown of thorns for the sins committed with his head, pierced with iron nails for sins committed with both hands and both feet, and received a spear in his side, loving him to the point of death. This is an amazing sacrifice. Please accept that love.
二. so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Believe in Jesus of Christmas, whom God sent into this world as your Savior. Not believing in Jesus Christ is the greatest sin (Revelation 21:8, John 3:18).
It is said that we keep Christmas, but no matter how fancy decorations, carols, and gifts are sent, it is of no use if we do not believe in the only begotten Son sent by God's love. Receive that Jesus today. They do not perish but have eternal life.
But no one believes in Jesus. Jesus was conceived and born of the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. A person is born into this world by unclean motherhood, a man and a woman. But Jesus was not born by a man, but was conceived by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary. You can protest that it is scientifically and physiologically inconsistent. But God transcends science. He is an all-powerful God. He is the God who makes things that do not exist. To believe that God conceived and gave birth to the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit is to believe in Jesus. There is nothing our God cannot do. We believe in that God.
Now you have been saved and have a new life. Obviously, we are saved spiritually, but our bodies also live again. Because our Jesus was resurrected, those who believe in the resurrected Jesus will surely live even if they die.
Our Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead three days later. Because Jesus is God, He rose from the dead.
This resurrection has a close relationship with our believers.
First, spiritual resurrection takes place.
To believe in Jesus is to believe that Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit, died on the cross and rose from the dead. Anyone who believes this fact without any doubt has received a new spiritual life. The spirit is resurrected. John 10:10 says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly.” Please believe that Jesus came to give you life.
And Jesus ascended into heaven. Even now, at the right hand of God, he is praying for us. I am praying for you. And he prepares a place for us. He is coming back to welcome us.
Second, not only the resurrection of the soul, but also the resurrection of our body.
For that reason, those who believe in Jesus do not fear death. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" (John 11:25-26). Please believe this. Many ancestors sang hymns and were martyred.
Third, our lives will be resurrected. Some of us have failed. But failure in Jesus is not a very failure. As Romans 8:28 says, all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
How many people were grieved by the 5.18 problem, but now it has risen again. Those who are in Jesus will never fail. Proverbs 24:16 says that the righteous will fall seven times and get up eight times. Psalm 37:24 says, “He (the righteous) stumbles, but he does not stumble, for the Lord holds him in his hand. I hope you will win through the resurrection faith.
Believing in Jesus is to believe at face value in the event of being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born to the Virgin Mary, dying on the cross, resurrected, ascended into heaven, and will return. I hope that you will not perish but have eternal life by believing these five facts at Christmas. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will be saved and become children of God and people of the kingdom of heaven.
