Matthew 1:21 The meaning of Christmas

On the 19th, a very surprising event occurred. A 20-year-old father gave sleeping pills to five or six-year-old children and threw them into the Han River. This incident really shocked us. How can a father do that to his children? Many people were angry and saddened by this news. Because of his father's twisted thoughts, the children who are still young have lost their precious lives.

A similar incident occurred in the Bible. 2,000 years ago, the God we believe in also threw his only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world.

However, the event in which God threw Jesus Christ into the world and the event in which a father threw his children into the Han River have different purposes and different results. This should be well differentiated.

It is not clear why this is happening around us today. It is because my father has a mental illness. It was because of a fight with his wife. And so on, there are just a lot of conjectures.

However, 2,000 years ago, God threw his only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world for a clear purpose and reason.

Jesus came into this world to fulfill God's purpose. That day is today, Christmas Day.

Then, why did God throw His only Son, Jesus Christ, into the world? In other words, where is the meaning of Christmas...

Many people try to make Christmas fun and enjoyable. You want to spend meaningful time with your loved ones, friends and family, but you don't really know the meaning of Christmas.

Please remember today that Christmas isn't just about giving and receiving gifts or greeting cards.

In today's text, the meaning of Christmas - It is clear what the purpose of Jesus Christ's coming into this world is. “For he is the one who will save his people from their sins.”

In other words, believe that Jesus came into this world to atone for all the sins you and I have committed...

Jesus came to this world for the salvation of those who are suffering and groaning in the bondage of sin and death.

In this way, Christmas becomes a day of joy and hope for us who are freed from the bondage of sin and death, but it is a painful day for Jesus, who has to bear it himself.

But what's even more surprising, you know, is that Jesus, who took the place of our sins, did not consider it a pain. He didn't avoid it or run away from it. Rather, he came to this world to willingly bear the work.

So Christmas should be a double joy and thanksgiving for us.

One is that through Christmas, we can have hope that we can be freed from the bondage of sin and death, and the other is that Jesus was willing to bear the painful and difficult work of atonement for all our sins for us. There is double joy and gratitude.

Christmas should be a very meaningful day for us.

Rather than finding meaning in giving gifts to others, sending cards, and having fun eating and playing, / I should be grateful for the hope of a day of atonement for my sins and forgiveness.

Through this Christmas, we must find the lost place of Jesus.

At Christmas time, many people look forward to looking for Santa Claus, caring for neighbors in need, and having a good time with loved ones. The main character of Christmas should be Jesus.

Do not forget that it is the right way for the saints to celebrate Christmas to have Jesus who came into this world to atone for all our sins, and to give thanks and glory to him...

Read the sermon again today. “You will give birth to a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”

May this be a precious time to give thanks and glory to Jesus, our Savior, through this Christmas...
