Deuteronomy 26:12-15
The meaning of tithing every three years
In Deuteronomy 26:1-11, the text of today's verses 12-15 is to give thanks for the land that God has given us and to fulfill our horizontal duties toward God's people toward the same weak neighbors.
It is mainly expressed in terms of money, and it is true that it is from the time of Abraham that he showed his gratitude with material things in the form of tithing, but it is true that he pleased God with his thanksgiving offering from Abel. God teaches that we should not only give to God, but we should have a life of giving to our neighbors. This is because God loves all people, especially because he protects the orphans, widows, and Levites, who must see only God and live. Therefore, the words of verse 13 will be the result of moving the actions of verse 12. The behavior in verse 12 is the norm in principle. It is the norm to pay a three-year tithe, and it is the norm to feed and satisfy the Levites, strangers, orphans, and widows who are neighbors. When this is practiced, this tithe becomes sacred. the same text
It is found in Deuteronomy 14:22-27.
(22) You shall pay a tithe of the produce of the land every year, (23) You shall eat tithes of your grain and of your wine and of oil, and of the firstborn of your flocks, in the presence of the LORD your God, in the place the LORD has chosen for his name. You shall always learn to fear the LORD your God. (24) But if the place the LORD your God has chosen to place his name is too far from you and the journey is difficult and you cannot take what he has given you in abundance, (26) Go to the place chosen by the Lord your God, (26) With the money you shall buy whatever is in your heart, and ask for whatever your heart desires, be it cattle, wine, or strong drink, and there you and your household may eat together in the presence of the Lord your God. (27) Do not forsake the Levite who dwells in your city, for he has no portion or inheritance among you.
The thought of tithing records that we learn to fear God, and that we rejoice with our neighbors. He demanded not to abandon the Levites who had no inheritance.
(28) At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and save it in your towns (29) The Levites who have no portion or inheritance among you, and the strangers and orphans and widows who live in your towns, come and eat. call, and the LORD your God will bless you in whatever you do with your hands.
And he told them to collect a special tithe for three years and share it with their neighbors. Therefore, a tithe given according to God's command becomes sacred when it is given with such faith or obedience to keep a promise. It becomes a holy thing when it is given out of obedience to God, not just in the level of money, not in the level of salvation. The New Testament teaches that all things will be rewarded if we do it to God, not with a lot of material things.
Matthew 25:40 The king answered and said, "Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
As such, the people should be careful about the holy things.
Leviticus 5:15-16 If anyone sins against the holy things of the LORD, offer a trespass offering to the LORD, according to the value of the sanctuary, take a ram without blemish, equal to several shekels of silver, according to the value of the sanctuary, and bring it from the herd as a sin offering. He shall pay for the offense against him, and he shall add a fifth to it, and give it to the priest, which shall be for him as the ram of the trespass offering, and he shall be forgiven him.
Relics should not be taken lightly.
19:24 In the fourth year all its fruits are holy, and they shall offer praise to the LORD.
Leviticus 27:28 But it cannot be sold or belonged to anything that is sacrificed to the LORD, whether it be a person, livestock, or inheritance.
Therefore, what is offered to God is considered sacred, and in it, it should be regarded as the commandment of the Lord. This should be applied in the same way to the attitude of the heart when giving a yearly gift today.
The word of verse 14 means that God accepts when we give something that does not lose our heart to a foreign god that makes it holy.
Ezekiel 8:14 And he brought me to the north gate that entered the house of the LORD, and behold, there were women sitting there and weeping for Tammuz.
In the book of Ezekiel, there were acts of weeping. Verse 14 means that you give your heart to these foreign gods and do not give it to the Lord. It belonged to a pagan ritual dedicated to a dead spirit called an unclean body, which was used for the dead, that is, to actually protect the offering to God. that it is differentiated. I have distinguished this and belonged
Verse 15 He prays, ?쏥od bless these people and bless the land.??
In conclusion, what God has to keep is a tithe for three years, and there is a place where that tithe is used, and it is considered sacred because of offering it. It means that the place where you live, that is, the land that God has sworn, will be blessed.
