Title: The Meek Family (Psalm 119:71)
Content Humans become irritable, stubborn, and act radically according to the degree of difference. God sends suffering to break these humans. Those who are not meek cannot experience the grace of God. The constant task that God gives to mankind is meekness. The cause of many conflicts and unhappiness in families, society, and interpersonal relationships today is an explosion of anger stemming from individualism and selfishness. Those who live in anger with individualism and selfishness are unfortunate. Therefore, it can be said that a very important factor in the maturity of faith is meekness. Our family should have mature faith with meekness.
Moses was a man who had been thoroughly trained in meekness by God. After Moses became the prince of the princess of Pharaoh of Egypt, he lived in the royal palace, enjoying all kinds of splendor. He trained the best academics and the best martial arts in a good environment. Then, when he was 40 years old, he saw an Egyptian beating his people, and he struck the Egyptian and buried it in the sand. He left the royal palace and fled to the wilderness of Midian. He married Jethro's daughter in a desolate wilderness and lived as a shepherd for 40 years. He had to spend groaning in this wilderness, in contrast to the royal palace. Meanwhile, (the old Moses) died and became (the new Moses).
When he was 80 years old, he was called by God, and he said how broken he was then [who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel down]. But Moses, who was meek, eventually rescued 3 million Israelites out of Egypt with one staff.
To be meek is to be broken and tamed. The meek people who have been tamed by God can be used by God and bear the fruit of the kingdom of heaven abundantly. Even a faithful person like Joseph was trained in meekness. At the age of 17, he was sold into slavery by his brothers. While living as a slave, he was framed for shame and entered a prison (a prison where the king's prisoners were imprisoned) with no promise of coming out again. He has been here for 13 years and has been terribly broken. Meanwhile, he thoroughly learned meekness.
Then God exalted him even from prison, and eventually he was released from prison and worked to become the Prime Minister. Later, Jacob and his family, who were suffering from lack of food due to famine, came to Joseph. Joseph, who was meek at that time, did not retaliate and gave them a place to live and food to eat.
Jesus Himself said, [Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth]. Those who are meek who obey God's will will be blessed by God. Our family should learn the meekness of Jesus and live a worthy and happy life on this earth.
Prayer: Thank God for protecting our family. There was a time when we could not live meekly before God and men, but lived proudly and hardened. I want to learn the heart of Jesus. Help me to be a humble and meek family. May you be meek to keep peace and joy. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
