way of the cross
(1 Corinthians 1:17-25)
>
(…) Today's Bible says that the wisest of man is inferior to the folly of God. So, no matter how successful we are, how much money we have, and how much education we have, we must not pretend to be wise before God. This means that you should underestimate the wealth, honor, and success you have earned through hard work. The Bible clearly warns, “You must not boast in the wisdom of men.” (…) In the life of a believer, one must have a determined attitude to give up the standard of this world, that is, a life style that seeks satisfaction with human wisdom. do. That is why you should not brag about money, brag about status, or brag about success in the church. No matter what privileges you have or what success you have in this world, you should not brag about it. It is neither the goal nor the standard of faith. It doesn't even make God look higher on you just because you have it.(…)
① A believer is a person who keeps holiness.
The church of God must be able to keep holiness. Its holiness cannot be diluted with success, money, or worldly honor and glory. The habit of boasting of human wisdom must be abandoned in the church. There is no way to escape from sin by following that habit. You will try to take shortcuts to be successful, you will trample over others to succeed, and you will become a person who wants to get a lot of money and do illegal things or do anything. If you try to indulge yourself in pleasure, you will destroy your life and your home. Therefore, we must live a life of holiness and holiness so that the shadow of sin does not enter the church.(…)
② A believer is a person who goes down the narrow path.
(…) Rather, the Bible tells us that the way of the cross is narrow and strait, so few people find it. It is a path of suffering, a path that silently demands obedience. The cross is the power of God to us. It is the power to deliver us from sin, and the power of God to keep my children from being swept away by the waves of sin in this world.(…) Before the cross, we realize God's holy love. In the face of the nobleness of God's love and the great love of the cross, seeking success, money, and honor is still nothing more than an immature and lowly faith. The workers that the church needs are humble people.(…) If we have faith and humility to know God on top of our success, wealth, and honor, we will become beautiful people. Therefore, I hope that we can pray as people of thanksgiving and humility, “Lord, make us people of thanksgiving and humility.”
③ Believers must keep their faithfulness even to death.
Father Dae-Gon Kim said just before his death, “Even if you are beaten to death, you cannot betray our God.” After saying this, this man was beaten, and he was wrong, and in the end he died. But even though we are not beaten, we betray God again and again. They betray God in order to succeed, to earn money, and to gain a higher position. (…) To have faith is not to live in the hope of a suitable compromise or blessing, but to have a right body and mind in front of God and people, and As a person who believes in God, I live honestly and honestly with the belief that I am walking with God in this place. That is faithfulness.(…) If I say that I believe in God and are not honest and faithful, then he is a liar. Be faithful and honest with your wife, husband, children, and the world. That's more important than success. Because at that time, God will value you, and people will value you and entrust you with precious positions. Amen.
