Title: The Miracles of Jesus and Christianity

John 2:1-11, 4:46-54 Jesus' miracles and Christianity
Jesus, who came to the land of Israel 2000 years ago, lived an ordinary life as the eldest son of a family for 30 years with a job as a carpenter. Then, after being baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River, the Holy Spirit of God came upon him and he heard the voice of God. From this point on, the ministry of Jesus' public life began and he performed many miracles for three and a half years until he died on the hill of Golgotha in Jerusalem.
Today's text (John 2:11) says, "Jesus performed these first signs in Cana of Galilee." And in the second reading (John 4:54), it says, "This was the second sign that Jesus performed after he came from Judea to Galilee." In other words, the first miracle of Jesus was to turn fresh water into wine in Cana of Galilee, and the second miracle in today's text was to heal the king's servant's son. Today, we want to find out what kind of religion Christianity really is through these two miracles.
In other words, in the miracle of Jesus, there is the eternal life of God, but in the miracle without Jesus, there is no eternal life of God, so in the end we fall into eternal death. Therefore, today, through these two miracles of Jesus, we pray in the name of the Lord that you may rightly understand and understand Christianity, so that you may overflow with the life of God and happiness.
1. Jesus' First Miracle and Christianity
One day, Jesus received an invitation from a region called Cana of Galilee. “Respected Teacher Jesus, are you all respectful? It’s no different. The wedding and reception of Han Som-gun, the eldest son of Han Sarang, and Lee Ki-ja’s second daughter, Lee Ki-sun, who have been cherished by the teacher, are held below. We would appreciate it if you could attend and bless us. The bride and groom are here."
After receiving this invitation, Jesus' mother first went to the wedding feast to help prepare the food. And after a while, Jesus went to the place with the first five disciples. While the reception was in full swing, Jesus' mother rushed to Jesus and said, "Oh, something has happened. The wine has run out here. What should I do?"
Jesus replied, "My hour has not yet come." Then the mother of Jesus asks the servants of the house to pray. “Children, whatever the one who is in him tells you, do it.” After some time Jesus said to the servants. "Children, there are six water jars over there, fill them up with water." The servants obeyed Jesus' words and filled up the Agu with water. But now Jesus speaks. “Drink the water and bring it to the banquet hall.”
The servants think to themselves. "No, the banquet hall told us to bring wine, but what if we bring fresh water? We'd be very scolded! But let's obey until the end." But what is this? The fresh water was transformed into wine that symbolizes joy. And the wedding feast where the shadow of sorrow was cast was changed into a place of greater joy. Hallelujah!
Through this first miracle, we can see that Christianity is the religion of change. Just as fresh water is changed to wine, so Christianity transforms sinners into righteous people, children of the devil into children of God, and a life like hell with heaven and earth.
It is Christianity that transforms life into the same life, resentment into gratitude, and sorrow into joy. Even in my case, I believed in Jesus for 10 years from high school, but I couldn't stop drinking and smoking, which I learned from high school. But it has changed. When the Holy Spirit came upon me at the Full Gospel Prayer Center in Osan-ri, Korea, alcohol and cigarettes, which were so difficult to quit, were cut off overnight.
People were surprised to see Peter's transformation. As such, Christianity has the power to change people. Christianity transforms the loser into a successful person, the passive person into an active person, the negative person into a positive person, the fearful person into a courageous person, and the nervous person into a meek person.
Even in the Old Testament, there is a miraculous event that shows that Kijokism will become a religion of change in the future. After the Israelites miraculously crossed the Red Sea, the waters fell for three days. Exhausted, as they passed through the wilderness, they finally found water. "Hey, it's water!" But when I drank it, it was so bitter that I couldn't eat it. Then the people complained about Moses. Moses prayed to God. "God, I'm thirsty, but the water is bitter. Maybe it's good?"
Then God hears Moses' prayer and gives instructions. "Moses, there
Throw a tree into the water.” Moses threw a tree that God had commanded, and the bitter water was changed into sweet drinkable water. This tree is a symbol of the cross. The death of the cross changes a life like bitter water, an environment like bitter water, and a heart like bitter water into a life like sweet water, environment like sweet water, and heart like sweet water.
Dear brothers and sisters, I pray that your life, like water without joy, will be transformed into a life full of joy. I pray that the life of wounds, sorrows, and pain will also change into a sweet water life and a happy life. According to the Bible, Abram, who had no children, was transformed into Abraham, the father of many nations, who miraculously had descendants at the age of 100. Sarai, a woman of sorrow who could not have children, has also changed into Sarah, a mother from a foreign country who gives birth to a baby at the age of 90.
The fraudster Jacob was transformed into Israel receiving God’s blessing, Simon the Reed was transformed into Peter the Rock, and Saul, the proud and persecutor, was transformed into the humble apostle Paul. And a life that is like a rag, decorated like a piece of tissue paper, is transformed into a life that blooms like a rose. Therefore, the Bible testifies. “You have turned my sorrow into dance; you have taken off my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.” (Psalm 30:11) “You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy” (John 16:20).
Dear brothers and sisters, we come to realize that Christianity is a religion of change through the first miracle of Jesus' transformation of fresh water into wine. I pray that your worries will change into joy and happiness.
2. The Second Miracle of Jesus and Christianity
The land of Cana of Galilee, where Jesus performed his first miracle, came again. The king's servant, who lived in the town of Capernaum, came to Jesus and made a request. "Jesus, my beloved son is seriously ill and is about to die. Please come quickly and heal me." Jesus says. "Go. Your son lived." The king's servant believed Jesus' words and met a servant who came to meet him on the way down to the house. But the servant says: "Master, your son is alive." I asked, "Yes, when did you get well?" I thought that his son's fever had dropped just when Jesus said, "Your son is alive." This incident made the whole family believe in Jesus. has been
Through this second miracle, Jesus shows that Christianity is a religion of healing. After that, Jesus healed many sick people. It shows that fever, paralysis, leprosy, blindness, deafness, dumbness, epilepsy, bloating, hemorrhage, and any disease can be cured by raising the dead. The Bible says about this. “He forgives all your iniquities and heals all your ailments.” Even here today, the Lord wants to heal the sick.
Some people think that Jesus' healing is "shamanistic and superstitious." However, a closer look at the Bible reveals that Christianity is rather a religion of healing. The Bible testifies to this. “If you obey the word of the LORD your God, and do what is right in my sight, if you listen to my commandments and keep all my ordinances, then I will not give you any of the questions I have given to the Egyptians. Yahweh" (Exodus 15:26).
And the Bible explains why Jesus was whipped. “By his wounds you are healed.” (1 Peter 2:24) “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:17). He rejoices in healing the sick. This is Psalm 107:20. “He sends the word and heals them.”
We also experienced God's healing power a lot in our family. In the case of dml's mother, she always had nosebleeds due to chronic sinusitis and had to wipe her nose with a tissue every day. However, since I believed in Jesus, my sinus infection disappeared. And in the case of my sister, she was unable to eat properly due to chronic gastroenteritis. However, that gastrointestinal disease also disappeared after believing in Jesus. The Bible says “The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.” (James 5:15) “These signs will follow those who believe… they will lay their hands on them, and they will recover” (Mark 16:17). -18)
Ladies and gentlemen, today, Jesus rejoices in healing the sick. Therefore, we should pray to God to heal us. Being healed is by no means a superstition. Rather, it is at the heart of the gospel. It is Christianity, and it is the right of Christians to heal the body and mind. Therefore, when me and my family are ill, do not retreat and pray. "Lord, please heal me." I pray that you will be freed from the bottle and found freedom.
Conclusion. Christianity is not just a simple religion, ethics, morals and philosophy. In Christianity, miracles happen. Among those miracles is the miracle of change. There is a miracle of healing. Today we must taste a change through Jesus in this foreign land. Unhappiness must change into happiness. The disease is cured and must be healthy. I pray in the name of the Lord that the miracle of God's transformation and healing will come even in this foreign land.
