Isaac and Rebekah's Mistake
Genesis 27 1-17
There were many failures in Pestalozzi's life. At the age of 25, he started school in a rural village called Noiho, not far from his hometown, but failed.
At the age of 28, he founded a school for the poor in the same place, but failed again due to severe financial difficulties.
In the aftermath of the French Revolution, a new republic was established in Switzerland, and a civil war broke out in the Stanz region against it, resulting in numerous orphans.
He started an orphanage to rescue them, but failed again in less than half a year. He also dreamed of an ideal school and immersed himself in it for about 20 years before he died, which at one time seemed to be a great success.
His fame spreads everywhere, and many people come to visit from all over the world.
However, it was eventually closed due to feuds and feuds between two of his employees.
He spent 80 years of his life amidst these repeated failures.
But today no one calls him a failure. He is respected by many as one of the greatest teachers in the history of education.
Rejoice in the experiences of meaningful failures in your life
Dear saints,
This is a scene suggesting that the stage of the history of redemption is being replaced by Isaac due to the birthright incident and blessing of Isaac and Jacob.
And Genesis 27 is full of mistakes, just like our lives.
Also, some wonder if the blessings of the ancestors of the Israelites were such a deception? Does God not recognize the deceptions of humans and give blessings? no. Jacob's blessing is a promised blessing. (Genesis 25:19-26)
Jacob's measures and means were involved in such a blessing, and God allowed it.
Our sins are the same. God allows us, even if we sin while believing in Jesus.
Nothing is happening now, but if you use it, God's discipline will come.
In Leviticus 26:14 and below, we learn that God's discipline comes in grades.
Let's look at the genealogy of Jesus. Four women appear in the genealogy. But their status is whores, strangers, and sinners of incestuous marriages. But why would God do it this way? It is the heart of God's love and compassion to prove that He came to save sinners by allowing the intervention of sin in God's history of redemption.
If we do not know the attributes of God in one-to-one or crossway, we do not know the will of the Bible.
Dear saints,
There are scenes where Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, and Esau also make mistakes. What we learn here is that we humans are not perfect. Our life is to stop making mistakes if we are a little careless and put our minds to rest.
Look at verse 1.
Isaac is also getting old, and everyone gets old when they get older. You can't live forever.
As we get older, we first become anxious and fearful, so our faith gradually declines.
Isaac was no exception. He reacted more sensitively to the present situation than God's promises guaranteed for the future. Let's look at Isaac's mistake first. It is wrong that he called Esau.
Isaac said in Genesis 25:23 that God said that the oldest shall serve the younger.
Isaac loved Esau more as a human being. Because Esau is masculine, lively, and good at hunting. Parents warn that if they favor their children, problems will arise.
God told him to appoint Jacob as his successor, but Isaac did not want to do that, but wanted to do it on his own will. That's why Esau was called.
In fact, Isaac and Rebekah knew God's intention to make Jacob his successor.
In 25:27 and below, which we learned last time, Isaac and Rebekah know the story of Esau selling his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of red bean soup. Unfortunately, Isaac was unaware of the importance of the birthright.
So sad Isaac is the heart of his parents who want to help Esau in a more humane way.
There are many mistakes we make because we act humanly even though we know God's will.
In the midst of this situation, Isaac also knew that he would not live long, so he secretly called Esau with a desire to bless Esse. Look at verse 2.
Isaac makes another mistake here. You're talking very unbelievably. I can see that you have a very impatient mind.
