I found the opportunity
In the Bible, the most beautiful and noble worship of a woman whom the Lord rejoiced and praised appears. When Simon the leper invited Jesus to a meal, a woman from Bethany, the same village, came to the house where Jesus was. In her hand was a beautiful balm of balm made of marble. The perfume oil contained in the avalanche was a valuable ‘nard perfume’ extracted from the roots of a juniper tree growing in the Himalayas of India. The value of one jade box (about 300 grams) of that ‘nard perfume’ was worth about 30 million won for 300 denarii. The poor woman's only hope of collecting this beautiful perfume was to use it for her future beloved husband. Over the years, she has dreamed of that dream and has been collecting perfumed oils. But the woman decided to use the perfume for the Lord. The woman's actions were impulsive and not improvised. She had prepared it in advance for the Lord.
The woman came behind Jesus while he was eating, broke the neck of the wax alabaster, and poured nard oil on the Lord's head. The fragrant nard oil ran down Jesus' head and flowed down his collar. The scent of nard spread throughout the room. But there were people in the room full of the scent. It was Judas Iscariot and some of his disciples. They were angry and rebuked the woman for her behavior. “Why are you wasting so much money, what are you doing if you could have met the needs of the poor with that much money?” How did Jesus feel when he heard the words of Judas Iscariot and his disciples, who had followed him as a disciple for three years? would you? The value of the disciples looking at the Lord was a little 'a man who was considered a waste' to give all of the 30 million won worth of perfume. I thought that giving all of that expensive perfume to Jesus was a waste of money. It was the image of people who converted everything only to the value of money.
The precious and devoted dream of the Bethany woman said, “It must be seen as giving, but it is not enough to give it all. It wasn't something I was given while having many conflicts. To the woman, Jesus was the most exalted to receive his most exalted thing. Even 300 denarii of perfume was not wasted. The devotion she poured out to Jesus was “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.” The woman made the opportunity and devoted her most precious thing to the most valuable work. It was the most beautiful worship of a woman.
In our church, there are members who pour out their noble things for the church, which is the body of the Lord. Sometimes, there are saints who pour out their things for the Lord even though they are always in a difficult situation because of worries about the cost of living. When the world sees it, they think that it is a crazy thing to ‘spend’ like Judas Iscariot, but it was the noble perfume alabaster poured out on the Lord. “My offering is worship to God” “My service and service are worship to God” We will see Mary who offered the beautiful perfume in the kingdom of God. Those who have been saved will guide us to her and introduce ‘this is Mary of the ointment.’ We will see her living a life that shines like the sun in heaven, enjoying her God-given reward.
We need a helping hand in many parts of the church in 2011. Our service, hard work, and devotion will be a gift of beautiful perfume to the Lord. Don't miss the opportunity to serve God. I hope that this year will be a gift and service that the Lord pleases and praises, like Mary's dream, rather than giving only enough. My giving, service, and service to our Lord are not ‘spare’, but my worship of giving my noblest things to the most noble. My devotion and service will shine like the sun in the sky.
