Title: The most precious place
Bible: Matthew 21:12-17
Starting Point of the Word>>
Today, we would like to share the grace of God with the word “the most precious place” through the words of this text.
I believe that all of you who worship today are with us because this place of worship today is the most precious and blessed place.
In the words of John 10:7-18, the words about the good shepherd and the paid shepherd appear.
The good shepherd is Jesus.
The good shepherd feeds the sheep with good grass and good water.
So, if we look at the words of John 10:10-11,
“I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly; I am the good shepherd, and the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
is recorded.
What does this mean?
The sheep should be where the Good Shepherd leads them.
It means that where the Good Shepherd leads, there is life and there is more to be obtained.
Again, a place with a good shepherd is the most precious place for sheep.
No matter how good the position I am in, it cannot be the most precious place unless I am with Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
The devil comes to us as good things in the flesh.
But these things that are good for the flesh act to make us fall.
If you go to the mountains, you can see a lot of good looking mushrooms, but if you touch them carelessly, you can get in big trouble.
The reason is that it is a poisonous mushroom that looks good but cannot be eaten.
If you look at Genesis 3:6,
“When the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eye, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, she took from its fruit and ate, and gave it to her husband who was with her, and he also ate.”
Please remember that the devil is always tempting us with things that are pleasing to the eye, good to eat, and covetous in order to overthrow us like this verse.
Let's take a look at today's text.
When Jesus entered the temple, the temple became a marketplace.
Many people were changing money in the temple, selling animals used in sacrifices, and it was crowded with people buying and selling things.
Jesus could not leave such people alone.
Jesus overturned the tables of the merchants and drove them out.
If we look at verse 13 of the text,
“He said to them, It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make a den of robbers.”
Jesus knew that the temple should be the most precious place for people.
He knew that the temple should be a place for believers to experience God's blessings.
However, people did not understand such a deep meaning, so they turned the temple into an ugly place for the pleasure and abundance of the flesh.
Everyone, through today's text, I hope that you will come to understand the meaning of the most precious position that Jesus speaks of.

Then, what is the most precious position Jesus is talking about?
First, the place of prayer is a blessed place.
Prayer is where God and I meet face to face.
Through prayer, I am speaking to God, and God is speaking to me.
So, the seat of prayer is the most precious place.
What do you pray for when you pray at church?
According to Matthew 6:33,
“Seek ye therefore first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you also.”
Says.
Most of the people pray to fill their bodies when they pray.
But the Bible tells us to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
This means that our place of prayer should be a place where we can discover God's will and get to know God.
According to 1 Corinthians 1:12,
“I say this, but each of you say, I say to Paul, I am Apollos, I am Cephas, and I belong to Christ.”
There is a saying.
Looking at these words, it means that now the Corinthian church is praying, serving, and worshiping with different things.
We have to work together for good, but we are sharing Jesus, who ends with their own greed and selfishness.
Ladies and gentlemen, this temple, where we are worshiping now, can become the most precious place when it becomes a place of prayer to communicate with God.
Second, the place where the Word is preached is a blessed place.
I've drawn sermons a few times before, but at the church where I was before, the talent Eul-dong Kim and his son Jong-guk Song went.
When I thought about the reason, it was election season, and I went to Eul-dong Kim's election campaign.
In fact, I was not at ease looking at it.
I didn't understand the idea of campaigning in a place where the word of God should be proclaimed.
Looking at the words of today's text, we can predict how noisy the Church of God must have been because of the people doing business.
Nor was it that there were no priests to lead the worship there.
But already, the priests of the temple in Jerusalem were giving way to people who traded for their own benefit and to money changers.
In other words, where the word should be, the voice of the merchants is replacing it, not the word.
Jesus says blessed is the place where the word is.
In Luke 10:38-42, the story of Martha and Mary receiving Jesus is recorded.
But now, Mary and Martha's attitude toward Jesus is completely different.
Martha is very busy preparing food to receive Jesus.
However, Mary sits close to Jesus and listens to the word, and she is not busy.
Even Martha says to Jesus.
“Send Jesus Mary to help prepare the food.”
But Jesus speaks in verses 41-42.
“The Lord answered and said to him, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled over many things, but a few things or one thing is enough. Mary has chosen the good part, and it will not be taken from her.”
You answered.
The word of God means spiritual food.
The very place where spiritual food is constant is a blessed place.
I pray in the name of the Lord that you will become those who long for the word of God by faith.
Third, your position is the most blessed position.
There is a place in the world where I need to be.
However, whether that position is a blessed one can be known by looking at how much I need it.
If you look at verse 13 of today's text,
“You make a den of robbers,” he says.
In other words, if we can't do what we should do, and if we can't give grace to others, we're also building a den of robbers.
What kind of place should we be?
① It is a place of worship.
We must do our best in the place of worship given to us.
Even if the world looks good and there are many precious things, going into the world leads us on the road to destruction.
Being in the place of worship and thinking of worldly things, breaking the time of worship because of worldly things, claiming God’s time as one’s own, using God’s things for one’s own needs. This is how we are going.
However, if we consider the time of our worship today as the most precious and blessed time in the world, we must become more and more longing in order not to lose the place of worship in front of us today.
② It is a place of devotion.
Someone tells me this.
“It is difficult for a planting church. These days, people only like big churches…” he said.
But I answer this way.
"no! It's not hard at all. Our church only needs to do what we can handle.”
Then I thought about what our church would do.
Then we discover that there is too much for us to do.
So who has to do all this work?
It is me and you.
Please do not avoid the seat of devotion.
③ It is the seat of evangelism.
The salvation of souls is the command of the Lord.
He said that the most pleasing time through us is when we save one life.
Through our lips, through the shape of our lives, through the hand of God's power, the salvation of souls continues.
I ask that you and the members of our congregation will be with you on that occasion.
At the end of the speech>>
Let me give you a conclusion.
Through the words of today's text, we talked about the most precious place Jesus is talking about.
I hope that our church of service can become the most precious place in the eyes of Jesus.
I hope that our church will become the best place because the fire of prayer does not cease, the living water of the word does not dry up, and me and the members of the church are together.
Do not look for the most precious place according to the world's standards, but with your eyes of faith and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I ask you in the name of the Lord that our church will be the most precious place and become together with me and our members every day.
