Title: The Mysterious Experience of Faith
Gospel of John (23) Mystical experience of faith (John 3:16)
<The love of God who gave his only begotten Son>
I try to live a life of giving, but I cannot give up my two precious daughters to death, no matter how precious they are. While thinking like that, I don't know how new the phrase "God gave his only begotten Son" has come up against me. A parent's heart is usually not to spare their own life for the sake of their children's lives, but how would they give up their son to the path of death? When you think about it, the love of Heavenly Father who gave his only begotten Son is beyond measure.
16 years ago, on the eve of Christmas, I was so moved to see my first daughter, Eun-hye, who was born at 11 a.m. at an obstetrics and gynecology hospital in Incheon. It was then that I first learned the meaning of “to love so much.” At that time, I had been a pioneering church for two years, and all the members were precious, but I still did not have the feeling of love like “You love me like this”, but seeing the grace of my first daughter, I was able to feel the depth of love that God gave for my only begotten Son for the first time.
Even now, looking at the two daughters sleeping, the love expressed in “I love you so much” seems to spring up. Just seeing him sleeping makes me excited and so adorable. But how would they give up their two daughters to death, no matter how good they were? People can't do that, but God gave His only begotten Son to save sinners. God loved us and gave us the best that heaven could give. Just like that, he still loves us.
< The Mysterious Experience of Faith >
Love is giving. You can give without love, but you can never say that you love without giving. If God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten Son, then we too should be able to give precious things for those in need. South American missionary Paul Brainan said: “Right now, more money is spent on dog and cat food in America than on missions. Do we really believe in God?” If you truly believe in God, understand the need for missions and be more committed to missions.
The United States gives approximately $2.5 billion annually to world missions. On the other hand, each year we spend $19 billion on toys, $61 billion on drinks, and $99 billion on fast food. Looking at those statistics, I think that the life of giving is too famine. Just as God loved the world so much and gave the most precious thing, believers who know love should try to give their best for missions and almsgiving.
There are many times in my life when I go through a financial crisis. Each time, someone strangely overcame the crisis through someone else, allowing them to experience the mystical faith. At that time, my husband and I will never forget their dedication to silently expressing their love. When you deal with that love, your heart is filled with newness, and you feel great reward and joy while doing ministry and documentary missions. Also, at that time, we will praise God's amazing providence, which makes people's hearts warm by moving them around.
If you think about it in detail, everyone lives with such love. Now that you realize that, try to return that love. True love is meant to be given. Some people say they have nothing to give, but everyone has something to give that can make someone feel special. If you practice a life of giving with it, the recipient will feel special emotions, but you will feel even more special. After all, the ‘giving life’ is the most blessed way to feel and learn love.
Letters containing heartbreaking prayer topics from the Fortressdo missionaries arrive one after another. Some missionaries ask for prayers for their family and for their own health, and some missionaries ask for prayers for vehicles to be used for ministry. Some missionaries ask for prayers for the construction of a small local chapel, and some missionaries ask for prayers due to the difficulties of living due to the lack of support. Offer to help them. If you try to give, you will have the experience of believing more miraculously.
