Title: The Nature of God in Us (13)

Contents

The disposition of God in us (13), temperance in knowledge, patience in temperance

January 8, 2012

(2 Peter 1:4-9) “By this he has given us that precious and exceedingly great promise, that through this promise you will escape (forsaken) the corruption in the world through lust, and those who are partakers of the divine nature. Therefore, be more diligent, supplying to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. This is enough for you, so that you do not become sluggish and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; but whoever does not have these things is blind, lack of vision, and has forgotten the cleansing of his old sins.”

1. Why should we participate in the divine nature?

1) Because it is God's purpose and command for us.

- If you have faith in God, and if you believe in God and believe His Word, obedience is the way to go.

(1 Samuel 15:22-23) “Samuel said to him, “Does the Lord take delight in burnt offerings and other sacrifices, as does the obedience of his voice? It is like the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is the sin of worshiping idols that have been bought. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, the Lord also rejected you from being king.”

* Think of it if you believe that faith is a transition from humanism to neo-capitalism.

* If we believe that God is our Lord (as the Creator and He bought with the price of blood), what is our duty?

* God is pleased with obedience in our lives rather than our visible worship.

* Of course, those who obey will also offer worship in spirit and truth.

* If we are not obedient, God can also disapprove of all our purposes and plans.

* Because disobedience is like a shaman's kindness, and a hardened heart is like idolatry.

- God's eternal purpose and plan for us is our holiness.

* We already have the status of God's holiness people and children with faith.

* Status is the responsibility given for the responsibilities that come with that status.

(Ephesians 5:8) “You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light.”

* All light illuminates darkness, and darkness cannot exist.

* Everything from the past time that was dark must be transformed into light.

- To participate in the divine nature is to be armed with the divine thought within us.

* When we are armed with God's thoughts, we can see with God's eyes.

* We will see ourselves and our surroundings as God sees them.

* As God thinks about all right and wrong, so do we.

* As God is pleased and sorrowful, we will do the same.

* We are doing God's work.

* The true light of God is realized in us.

* This is to reveal the glory of God and glorify God.

- If we do not want to have God in us, it is difficult to participate in His disposition.

* The reason we do not want to have God is because we hate His intervention.

(Romans 1:28-32) “And also, because they did not want to have God in their hearts, God gave them over to a lost will, to do what is not fitting, full of all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice, envy, Full of murder, strife, deceit, malice, gossiper, slanderer, hater of God, reproacher, arrogant, boastful, schemer of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, treacherous, heartless, merciless.”

* Also, because we cannot rejoice in God's Word, we cannot focus on God's teachings.

(1 Timothy 6:3-5) “If anyone teaches another doctrine and does not devote himself to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teachings of godliness, he is proud and knows nothing, and loves arguing and quarreling. strife, slander, and evil thoughts arise, and quarrels among those whose hearts are corrupted and lose the truth, and regard godliness as the material of gain

* It is for this reason that we all have the uncleanness described above.

- We must guard ourselves and not lose our Christian attitude.

(Philippians 2:4) “Each one (first) look to his own affairs, but also to the interests of others, that my joy may be filled

* We try to judge others first before we look back on ourselves. : The Bible is the opposite

* At least once a week, you should be able to examine yourself and discern.

* If you do not guard yourself, you cannot triumph in Christ.

(1 Timothy 1:5) “The purpose of vigilance is love, with a pure heart, a good conscience, and unfeigned faith.”

* The purpose of the boundary is a pure heart, a good conscience, and an unfeigned faith for love (God and man).

2. Participation in the divine nature is perseverance over the difficulties of self-control.

1) Temperance (節制) is the same as Temperance (切除), which is accompanied by some amount of pain.

- Temperance without patience is impossible.

* Participation in the divine nature is what makes a Christian a Christian.

* That is, we are aligned with God's thoughts and purposes for us.

* That is faith.

* So the Bible says that we are already dead in Christ, and Christ lives in us.

(Galatians 2:20) “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh is faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. to live in.”

* Let us strive to persevere for temperance so that we can achieve true justice in our faith.
