(2 Peter 1:4-9) “By this he has given us that precious and exceedingly great promise, that through this promise you will escape (forsaken) the corruption in the world through lust, and those who are partakers of the divine nature. Therefore, be more diligent, supplying to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. This is enough for you, so that you do not become sluggish and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; but whoever does not have these things is blind, lack of vision, and has forgotten the cleansing of his old sins.”
1. Are you all Christians?
(Acts 11:24-26) “Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a large crowd added to the Lord. Barnabas went to Tarsus to find Saul, and when he met him, he brought them to Antioch. taught, and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.”
1) We need to take a serious look at ourselves by repeating these questions ourselves.
-People do not realize that they unwittingly get used to their situation.
* Seeing this, he says mannerism, that is, ‘wet into inertia’.
* Mannerism is 'the loss of originality and freshness by being repeated like a habit.'
* As a Christian, even though you have lost your Christian image, you do not know why and ask yourself, “Why am I?”
* It's like a friend you haven't seen in a long time is surprised at how you have changed, but you don't know yourself.
* Ask yourself whether your current life of faith is appropriate as a Christian.
(Rev 2:4-5) “But I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Therefore, remember where you fell, repent and do the first works. If you do not do so and do not repent, I will come to you and set your lampstand in its place. will be removed from
- To be a Christian is not to go to church.
* It can be seen from the background of the early church era when people were called Christians.
* Before the church in Antioch called a Christian, there was no Christian uniqueness.
* It was a mixture of Judaism and the idea of Christ was not settled.
* A Christian is a person who lives armed with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
- To be more precise, it is as follows.
* Those who first confessed that Jesus Christ died on the cross as their Savior and received it in their hearts.
* Those who set their hopes in heaven and make them their eternal home in the future.
* Those who receive the teachings of Jesus in their hearts and live according to them.
* Those who believe that their duty is for the glory of God and show glory through life.
* A person who has completely converted from a humanist to a neo-capitalist.
* A person who lives by changing the knowledge of his past time in order to live by neo-capitalism.
* A person who has the status of light and fulfills his responsibilities and duties.
- The process until the saints of the Antioch church were called Christians.
* For a year, taught by the teachings of Jesus, to be distinguished by life
* A distinct way of life that differs from the teachings of Christ is called a Christian.
* Recognized and called by people around you, not yourself
- A Christian must be distinguished by distinct actions in his life.
* This is achieved through self-control and perseverance for him in new knowledge.
* We should all become Christians, recognized by those around us, like the Saints in Antioch.
* There are pseudo-Christians, or people who live as if they were Christians. : Only the pattern is Christian.
* A person who has become a true Christian by changing his or her outward words and actions.
* A person who has fallen into mannerism as a Christian due to his surroundings.
* God wants and demands that we be like Him, but we still adhere to our own frame.
* So we just change the color of being Christians and life is still the same.
2. Now we must be proud of ourselves as Christians.
1) You have to hear that ‘that person is really Christian’, which is verified by the people around you.
- At least try our best not to be a stumbling block around us.
* Do not deviate from the universal morals and ethics of society.
(1 Peter 2:11-15) “Beloved, I urge you, as strangers and passersby, to abstain from the lusts of the flesh, which fight against the soul. In order to glorify God on the day when he sees and recommends it, that is, by good deeds, you stop the ignorance of fools. All human institutions (morals, ethics, and laws) are subject to you for the sake of the Lord, or the kings above, or those who do evil. Do it to the prince whom he has sent to punish those who do good and to avenge those who do good, for by good deeds you stop the ignorance of fools.”
* Do not become a stumbling block in your community, family, friends, society, or church
* Be the person you need around you. : Don't be a burden. (Troubleshooting)
- Discerning the most basic things by which unbelievers judge Christians.
* Alcohol and tobacco. : One of the big factors that make people ugly
* Reliability. : a measure of personality
* Quality of life: Is it like a dog cake or a perfect rice cake?
* We are God's spokesperson for life itself.
- We are a holy people blessed by God.
* Are we the image of God's holiness people?
* Do those around you recognize you as a holy life? : appearance of light
(James 2:18) “If someone says, ‘You have faith and I have deeds, show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds’” (James 2:18).
“Do you believe in God or what kind of faith is that? I believe in myself. And look at what I do, isn't it much better than you who say you have faith? If that's what faith looks like, I'll live like this."
