Title: The Necessity of Prayer
A religion without prayer is not even a religion. The problems of individuals and the church as a whole are simply caused by a lack of prayer. During Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, he taught very lengthy things about prayer. The problem with today's church is that other religions and cults pray fervently, but the Orthodox Protestant Church lacks prayers and gatherings. Why should we pray?
1. To establish the cultural foundation of Christian life
To believe in Jesus means to have Jesus as Lord in your life and life. It does not mean that we go to and from the church, but that we live as Christians to be guided by His thoughts and spirit in our daily lives. A prayer life is essential to receive the dominion of Jesus.
Matthew 7:7-8 ‘7. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8. Everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”
Text Philippians 4:6 “... in everything by prayer and supplication... let it be made known to God” (1 Peter 5:7).
2. In order not to pass the exam
Seins try to achieve peace of mind even by meditating. Something happened that our saints never had, and although we can't see it, we are being tempted by the devil. To prevent this, this is armed with prayer.
Luke 22:46 "...Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray, so that you may not fall into temptation."
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober and watchful;
In the 4 Gospels, the 12 apostles were rebuked for not being faithful to prayer, but after the ascension of the Lord, they immediately devote themselves to prayer and continued their prayer life to carry out the gospel preaching activity (Acts 3:1).
Philippians 4:7 “Then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
The word “protect” means the escort of the Roman army garrison at the time, and it means the protection of God who keeps the saints safe.
3. To be empowered to be a witness
This prayer is not for the necessary and sufficient conditions for daily cultural life, but for actively gaining strength to be a powerful witness for the gospel of God. It is the prayer of a missionary. This prayer is something you can pray for yourself or for others. It is the content of prayer that God is most pleased with.
Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The reason we have to testify with power is that Jesus and the kingdom of God cannot be recognized by people's brains. In witnessing, Satan's resistive activity occurs in those who receive evangelism, so those who preach more need the power of the Holy Spirit.
In the last days, the Bible prophesies, Heb 10:25 'Do not forsake the gathering of people, as is the habit of some, but encourage them, and let's do it all the more as the day draws near.' Since this disappears, it becomes a problem due to lack of spirituality, and even as a saint, you may be disciplined. Knowing that prayer is essential to lead, maintain, develop, and testify as a child of God, I pray that prayer will become a part of your life in order to overcome Satan's temptations and win.
