When you think of 'dog', bad things come to mind. 'Dogs' .... This is a very bad bath. Someone said to you, "Hey you bastard!" Does it make you feel very bad? You wouldn't use such a bad swear word, would you? 'My life like a dog'... What is this again? When bad things keep happening, your nose breaks even if you fall backwards, and when you try hard and things don't work out, you lament your own situation. Not only that. Dogs sometimes bite people and cause trouble. There was even a case where a bulldog the size of a calf bit a small child to death. If you are bitten by a crazy dog, you may get a strange disease called 'rabies'. Also, dogs are very messy. Doesn't he eat his own cheap shit, or salivate through dirty trash cans and sewers... Such a dog is called a dung beetle.
However, there are many good things about dogs. Rather, there are areas where we can learn. Now, let's renew our resolutions for the new year, forgetting the bad things about dogs and looking at the two good things about dogs.
First, dogs recognize their owners. A dog who doesn't know the owner who feeds him and takes care of him is really a 'dung dog'. God made this world in 6 days and rested well on the 7th day. This day is called the 'Sabbath'. So, one day a week, on Sundays, they don't go to school, and adults don't even go to work. It's a rest day. But don't just take a good rest. On Sundays, we have to stop our usual work and come to church to worship. We must please God through worship with sincerity. Just as a dog jumps and jumps to greet its master, so we should worship our Master, God, with praise and prayer. You must wash your body and mind clean from the things you did wrong for a week. Also, we must listen to what God is saying to us through the Bible and sermons and receive new strength.
A person who goes out to play without coming to church on Sunday does not recognize his or her master properly. Children who only sleep all day or watch cartoon movies are people who do not get a proper rest on Sundays. To come before God and renew your body and mind is to rest properly. God makes the body and mind of a child who recognizes the owner more healthy.
God is not the one who swallows our offerings alone. Our offerings are like small seeds. If you plant small seeds in God's field with care and take good care of them, beautiful flowers will bloom and many delicious fruits will be produced. God shares that delicious fruit so that we and our neighbors can eat it together. Any donations thrown into the collection box become useless seeds. God gives delicious fruits to those who donate with the heart of planting precious seeds.
We are far better than dogs. But we shouldn't be worse than dogs. In the new year, let's serve our Lord God well. Let's become children who know God's gratitude and do what He wants, and children who donate with sincerity. That is why we earnestly pray that we all become children that are praised by God.
