This text is a historical scene from the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt to their first journey toward Canaan. The opposing relationship between the two peoples, Egypt and Israel, foreshadows the two different forms of human life today: the fleshly life of the saints and the spiritual life. The unfortunate slavery of Israel under the oppression of Egypt is being reproduced in today's life with a soul that is enslaved to the flesh and degenerates and becomes miserable.
The actions of Moses, the protagonist of this Exodus event, are similar to the salvation of Jesus Christ and the life of his passion for the cross. From this point of view, Moses can be seen as a type of Jesus Christ. Thus, the Exodus event is and should be related to Jesus and Christians.
The history of salvation from the Exodus
The Exodus was Jehovah's night under God's absolute sovereignty. God demands that we get out of the den of sin as soon as possible. The Exodus represents the completeness of salvation. Once saved, forever saved.
The Exodus was issued by Ramses.
Saints leave the world and signify names in the kingdom of God. The saints must leave Ramesses, the symbol of the world, and abide in God's promises.
The Exodus was done by 600,000 men.
However, the actual number
“600,000 walking men + infants + elderly and infirm who cannot walk + many motleys + very large flocks of cattle and livestock” escaped. What is unusual is that it is not just pure Israel. It was said that they were a lot of mongrels, so the Gentiles came out together at that time. God's salvation is open to all, not to any specific person.
Their exodus came about 430 years after Jacob moved and lived in Egypt.
God's will must be done. The kingdom of God is sure to come. God never forgets and keeps His promises.
This is a feast for Israel to be observed from generation to generation.
Now, we must continue the spirit of the Passover, not the Passover, and praise Jesus Christ who died on the cross forever.
What is Jehovah's Night?!
It is the 14th day of Abib, the night when God's holy instructions were given. The night God's judgment fell upon Egypt with death! The night God's protection fell upon Israel! The night when we were freed from bondage in Egypt! Only God alone has designed this great work, and it is the night of the Lord.
