Who guides my steps!
Jeremiah 10:23 10-12-19
Buil Church Sunday Daytime Worship Sermon
Jeremiah 10: “23: I know, O LORD, that the way of a man is not in him; it is not in him who walks to direct his steps.”
ㆍThe Bible tells Christians who believe in Jesus as their Savior that Jesus dwells in their hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 3:17: “May Christ dwell in your hearts through faith, that you may be rooted and grounded in love.”
ㆍIs Jesus, who dwells in the heart of a Christian, as comfortable as the home where he should be?
ㆍIn the past, a friend had been invited to a moving house and went there. However, after a delicious dinner, a couple of friends went into the kitchen to prepare refreshments, raising their voices and fighting. We couldn't hide the angry expression on our faces, but the clumsy look of our friend who was entertaining us made us feel really uncomfortable, as if we were sitting on a needle cushion. If our hearts are not comfortable, the Lord will be very uncomfortable.
ㆍThe Bible tells us that our heart, that is, our heart, is the temple of the Holy Spirit, where the Holy Spirit dwells.
1 Corinthians 3: “16: Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17: If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. so it is”
ㆍIf we Christians believe and trust the fact that the Holy Spirit dwells within us, we must open ourselves up to the Holy Spirit to lead our inner life in harmony with the character of Jesus Christ today.
ㆍ“Thank you, Holy Spirit, for waking me up in the morning. Help me to live like Jesus during this day today. Walk with me today, and help me not to walk in the counsel of the wicked, not to stand in the way of sinners, or to sit in the seat of the scornful. And I look forward to the great things that God will accomplish through me, so receive my praise today.”
ㆍThe Bible introduces the Holy Lord who dwells in our praises.
Psalm 22: “You are holy, O Lord who dwells in the praises of Israel.”
ㆍFor this reason, you should carefully check your inner state at the beginning of the day.
So, if unholy things are taking their place, we must confess our mistakes and seek the help of the Holy Spirit so that we can live according to the words of God by filling them again with the Holy Word.
ㆍThen, what is the position that the Lord is uncomfortable with that we need to examine ourselves?
It is an inner room that has lost hope of salvation and is filled with complaints, resentment, gossip, envy, jealousy, separation, and negative thoughts. More important than our adorned appearance is our own inner room, our mind. God does not look at a person's outward appearance, but judges the secret inner life. So, you must make sure that Christ is present in that secret place by faith.
ㆍThe Bible is written that He judges the secrets of men.
Romans 2: “16: the day when God will judge the secrets of men through Jesus Christ, according to my gospel.”
ㆍThe Bible speaks of the day when the secrets of man are judged.
2 Peter 3: “8: Beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
9: The Lord's promise is not slow, as some consider slowness, but is patient with you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in that day the heavens will They will depart with a loud voice, and the elements will be dissolved with scorching fire, and the earth and everything on it will be revealed. 11: Then all these things will be dissolved in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? With holy conduct and godliness 12: The day of God comes In that day the heavens will be burned and dissolved, and the elements will be melted with scorching fire, 13: As he promised, we look for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. 14 Therefore, beloved, you is looking forward to this, so make every effort to be found in peace without spot or blemish before the Lord.”
ㆍThe Holy Spirit guides Christians into all truth.
John 16 “13: But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own, but will speak what he hears, and will make known to you things to come. 14: He will glorify me and take what is mine. 15: All that the Father has is mine, therefore I said, He will take what is mine and make it known to you.”
ㆍThe Bible explains the kingdom of God in detail. The kingdom of God is within us. If you want to enjoy God's presence, you must open your heart to let Jesus rule your inner life with the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 14: “17: For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit 18: by this it is pleasing to God and also to men who serve Christ. We strive to edify one another.”
ㆍIn the kingdom of God, the king and the people form shalom.
ㆍPeace-Salem/Shalom, mutual virtue (Christlike nature = love, humility, and meekness)
ㆍThe fact that the Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of Christians is proof that he is willing to help whenever they need it.
Jeremiah 10: “23: I know, O LORD, that the way of a man is not in him; it is not in him who walks to direct his steps.”
ㆍThe Holy Spirit helps the saints to overcome temptation and make the right choice in life, no matter what temptation they receive through life. The Holy Spirit helps the saints to go through a gradual transformation into 2 Corinthians 3:18 “from glory to glory.”
ㆍWe may fall and fall, but nevertheless dwell in us, hear our confession and forgive us, the Lord who saves the lives of all people through more correct deeds and a new level of holiness while we breathe on this earth. He guides us on our steps to get there. Our hearts, cherished by their innate weaknesses, must be guided by God.
Proverbs 3: “5: Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding 6: Acknowledge him in all things, and he will direct your way
