Title: The One Who Sees a Vision
Contents
9. The next day, when they went on their way and approached the city, Peter went up to the roof to pray, and it was the sixth hour.
10. I was hungry and wanted to eat, but when people were preparing
11. And the heavens were opened and they saw a bowl coming down, like a large cloth, and tied up your ears and cast them on the ground
12. In it are every four-footed beast of the earth, and creeping things, and things that fly in the air.
13. And there was a voice saying, “Peter, get up, kill and eat.”
14. Peter said to him, "It cannot be so, Lord. I have never eaten anything unclean and unclean."
15. And there is a second voice, saying, Thou shalt not call unclean what God has made clean.
16. After this happened three times, the vessel was immediately taken up to heaven.
17. He doubted within himself what the vision that Peter had seen meant, and just then the men sent by Cornelius came to Simon's house and stood outside the door.
18. He called and asked, "Does Simon, whose name is Peter, live here?"
19. As Peter was thinking about the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him, “Two men are looking for you.
20. Arise, go down, do not doubt; go with them, for I have sent them.
21. And Peter went down and saw the men, and said, I am the one you are looking for; why have you come?
22. They answered, "Cornelius, a centurion, is a righteous man and a God-fearing man, praised by all the house of Judea. He was instructed by a holy angel to invite you to his house to listen to him."
23. Peter summoned him and made him lodge.
Today is Bible Sunday. Biblical Sunday, which is celebrated on the Day of Advent awaiting the Lord's coming, asks questions about the vital word that needs to be dissolved in our lives as well as the problem of Bible translation and distribution. This is because the spirit of Christmas began with the spirit of the incarnation who abandoned the throne of heaven and put on an uncomfortable human body and lived among us. Just as a jujube cannot turn red by itself, there are no flowers that just bloom and there are no fruits that can be eaten free of charge.
◆ People's Preparation and God's Preparation
History doesn't just happen. Whatever happens, you need to be well prepared in advance. If you're not prepared, you'll get things done wrong. Among the people who are hungry and preparing food, you will find the image of the Lord preparing for a new history. The Lord, who went to Cornelius to find Peter, opened the heavens this time and allowed Peter to see a vision.
◆ Things that are not clean and things that God has made clean
Peter, who had a vision, replies, saying that he can't do that to God's command to eat. In his view, the items in the cloth were unclean, unclean, and unclean. So it was impossible to eat. But the Lord saw it differently. We find here that what Peter sees and what the Lord sees can be different. And it makes me think about how much we are caught up in my existing stereotypes rather than the word of the Lord.
◆ Let go of your doubts and thoughts and follow the Word
More important than fantasies is how to interpret those fantasies and apply them to your life. The Lord did not force Peter to open his mouth and put him in. He only made them see visions and gave them the Word. The Lord speaks to him again, who was doubting and bewildered after seeing an incomprehensible vision. Do not doubt and go together... A new work is accomplished when we put down our thoughts and obey the words that come to us and follow them. I pray that Advent will be a season of reorganization of life once again in the light of the Word of the things I have been holding on to. History continues today. Jesus Hope!
