Old Testament
1. Joseph, unable to contain his affections in the presence of those who attended him, cried out, telling everyone to turn away from him, and made himself known to his brothers.
There was no one else with him at that time.
2. Joseph wept with a loud voice, and the Egyptians heard it, and it was heard in Pharaoh's court.
3. And Joseph said to his brothers, I am Joseph; is my father still alive?
4. Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me,” and as they drew near, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, whom you sold into Egypt.
5. Don't be sad because you sold me here, don't be sad because God sent me before you to save lives.
All
6. There was a famine in the land for two years, and yet there will be no plowing and no harvest for five years.
7. God sent me before you to preserve your life by a great salvation and to put your descendants into the world.
8. Wherefore, it was not you who sent me here, but God. God made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord over all his house, and
You have made me ruler over all the earth.
new testament
24. For by hope we have been saved, and hope that is seen is not hope; who can expect what we see?
25. If we hope for what we do not see, let us wait patiently.
26. In the same way, the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Holy Spirit comforts us with groanings too deep for words.
So you personally beg for it.
27. He who searches hearts knows the thoughts of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
28. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to his purpose.
sermon
Do you like the way you have been living? No one lives life the way he wants. There are people who live their lives with gratitude and joy even if they did not live as they intended, and there are people who live in dissatisfaction with resentment because of whomever it is. What makes these two different is forgiveness.
Forgiveness frees me, not the person who harmed me. Those who do not forgive do not know that the resentment they hold in them is hurting them and bringing them to ruin. Still, it will not be destroyed because God gives grace, but those who do not forgive have no freedom and no happiness.
So what is the secret to forgiveness?
1. You must cry out loud. Joseph could not stand the story that he had kept in his heart and endured, coming up and exploding. The mistakes I was proud of at a young age, the betrayal by my brothers whom I trusted, the fear and loneliness of leaving my beloved father far away, and the past days when I had no choice but to live with injustice and injustice burst into tears. Express your feelings for forgiveness. cry to God
2. I need to hear from God the meaning of what happened to me. How hated they must have been when Joseph told his brothers I was the Joseph you sold into Egypt! But Joseph heard God's interpretation of the matter. “God sent me before you to save lives.” It was God's love.
3. You can forgive when you have the Lord's heart. Considering his brothers who had made his life so miserable, Joseph would not have been happy to take revenge. But he was able to forgive his brothers because he accepted God's will. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). Forgiveness is a great decision you make for yourself, regardless of the other person's attitude.
Forgive me now. Then you will find freedom and peace. Do not deny that you are okay, but cry before God who knows all the pain. Then God, who loves us, will teach us the true meaning of what has happened. Pray for the Lord's heart. The Lord is the example of forgiveness. The love of the Lord gives me eternal victory.
