Title: The overflowing benefits of a full life
The benefits of a full and overflowing life
Text/ Psalm 23:1-6, Ezekiel 47:1-12
1. Introduction
Today's text is the famous Psalm 23 and the vision of water flowing from the temple that Ezekiel saw. The concept of these two texts is <full and overflowing>.
In the last part of Psalm 23, David received God's guidance, help, and pouring out blessings, saying, <My cup overflows!>. Gratitude and praise are overflowing.
In Ezekiel 47, the prophet Ezekiel tells us that every time the water that seeps out from the threshold on the east side of the temple is a thousand cubits, or a thousand cubits, it goes up to your ankles, your knees, your waist, and then a river flowing profusely It's possible. A vision of forming a powerful and lively community by gathering fishermen as green trees grow luxuriantly on the hills on the left and right of the river where the river flows, and the fruits are beautiful and the leaves are used as medicines, and various fish live in the river. are looking at
This morning, I would like to share grace while meditating on <The overflowing benefits of a full life>.
2. A Full, Overflowing Life Can Benefit You
首 山陰 江東八十里! It means that the shadow of Suyangsan covers 80 ri of Gangdong. In other words, if one person achieves great success, the people around them will also benefit from it. When you are with someone who makes good food, you taste delicious food, when you are with a wise person, you learn wisdom. When you are with someone who knows a lot about music, you automatically become proficient in music. When you are near high-ranking people, you automatically get to know a lot of high-ranking people, and when you are next to people who are full of prayer and praise, you will unknowingly enter the deep world of faith.
The important thing here is the fact that <if you are by your side it is!>. What do you mean? It is not because someone intentionally teaches, shows, or informs family, relatives, or friends, but the full ability, wisdom, financial power, personal connections, atmosphere, energy, etc. of that person in that person are natural. It flows from that person, overflows, and has a positive effect on the people around him. Just like a river overflowing with fullness to feed the fish and make the trees grow fresh. When a person is filled with something, it naturally overflows and benefits many people around him, even if it is not intentionally intentional. Therefore, I must first fill myself with good things.
3. What are the benefits of an overflowing, full life?
first. It's nice because it's natural. When work becomes a duty, it is hell, and when work becomes play, it is heaven. How painful and burdensome would it be if it became an obligation to have a good influence on others? So is home education. What is the stress of raising children under the obligation to raise them properly? When I look up to heaven in myself and I am filled with good things that I am not ashamed of, and they naturally flow out and have a good influence on my children, home education is no longer a duty, but a very natural home education.
second. It is good that there is nothing to be proud of. Jesus told us not to let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. Also, in the parable of the sheep and the goats, whatever you did for the least of them, you did for me. At that time, when did the sheep turn to the Lord? I did. They didn't remember what we did. Why? Because they did things naturally and naturally, completely unconsciously and unintentionally.
When people do something good, they want to brag about it. But when the good things that are full of you wisdom, kindness, humor, courage, skill whatever they are, flow out unknowingly and come out to help and benefit others, you do what you do He has nothing to brag about because he does not know. According to Confucius, if there are three people, it is said that when three people go on a road, there must be a teacher among them who can teach me what I need to learn. The teacher at this time is not an official teacher, but a teacher in the sense that I set an example for myself by observing their unintentional and unconscious behavior. The teacher has no sense of what he taught, so there is nothing to be proud of or boast about.
third. It's a good thing that you build up your virtues. Jesus said that if you do something good to your neighbor and show kindness to them, you have already received the reward (Matthew 6:2). In an oriental expression, it means that the morality is gone.
If the fullness inside me flows out without my knowledge and someone else gets help, that person doesn't say thank you to me, but inside I think it's something I'm really grateful for and will bless me. It is good that he will come back. Also, the person who was helped will one day help me in secret.
Therefore, what we have to do is to accumulate the very good things in ourselves so that they can overflow without realizing it and help our neighbors.
