Title: The Passion of Jesus

Bible Text: John 2:13-25
zeal of jesus
At Sindorim Station on the subway, a man got into a car with a bag. He put down his bag, coughed, and said, “Hey, how are you? I would like to introduce you to something. What is this? Toothbrush. Why did you bring it? I brought it for sale. How much? It's a thousand. English is written on the back. Made in Korea! What does it mean? It's an export product. Were the exports going well? It's ruined. So, let's turn them one by one. How many can you sell after you run them all? I don't know either. Let's see, I sold four. I earned 4,000 won. Will I be disappointed? I never do.” Go to the next column.
He hurried to the next square. What he showed was not a thousand-dollar toothbrush, but his enthusiasm. Passion is an essential condition even for peddlers, and even for top-notch talents. God works hard too. “…The Lord will work hard to accomplish this” (2 Kings 19:31). Jesus is also a zealous person.
zeal for the temple of the Lord
Jesus entered the temple in Jerusalem. “In the temple he saw men selling cattle and sheep and doves and money changers sitting there. He made a whip out of cords, and drove both sheep and cattle out of the temple, and poured out the money changers and overturned the tables” (verses 14-15). I dumped the money changers' money changers. You overturned the chair. He drove out the business people (Matthew 21:12).
There is a verse in the Bible that the disciples thought of when they saw Jesus like this.
“The zeal for your house has consumed me…” (Psalm 96:9). It occurred to me that zeal had swallowed up Jesus. Zeal for the temple turned into anger.
Anger is the energy of life. Luther said he could do anything well when his anger intensified. Self-centered anger leads to sin, but anger for justice leads to doing new things.
When Jesus saw the merchants selling in the temple of God, he could not bear it. Seeing the injustice, anger burned. There is fiery zeal, fiery anger, fiery love.
Jesus had fire. You said I came to cast fire. What more would you want if the fire was already on? He said it was frustrating because there was no fire (Luke 12:49).
Shin (辛) ramen bets on the spicy taste. It has been number one in sales for the ninth year in a row. No. 1 in customer satisfaction. Spicy with hot peppers. I bought and tasted all the peppers from all over the country. The soup was boiled 20 times a day and the flavor was selected. Even the same variety had a different taste depending on where it was produced. We also made over 200 types of noodles and tested them. Different thicknesses and shapes of noodles were sampled and studied. Timed with a stopwatch, the amount and temperature of the water were accurately measured and seasoned. It competed with the spicy taste and became the best in the world.
Jesus heard that he was crazy. What Jesus did in the temple was crazy. “My house will be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers” (Luke 19:46).
Motivation experts say, “Praise. Even whales dance.” But Jesus is rebuking. It's screaming and turning over.
Nagamori, president of Nippon Computer, scolds his subordinates and says: “You know why I shout so loudly? Because I really love you!” It is the idea that if you praise only one person, you will not be able to become a full-fledged person. To properly raise a person, you need reproof. A person who grows up properly grows when he gets scolded. It creates a “progressive reaction”. There is no benefactor like a shouting boss.
The Lord spoke to the church in Laodicea.
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot; I want you to be cold or hot. Because you are so lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-) 16)
When a stupid person rebukes them, their spirits die, and when a decent person shouts, their eyes come to life. The one who gets angry is successful. The Lord rebuked the church in Laodicea because there was a possibility.
“Anyone whom I love I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent” (3:19) The part we need to repent of is not unrighteousness, but lukewarmness. It's not about staying a good person, it's about becoming an ardent person. Lack of zeal is a sin.
“He said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan, for you are a stumbling block to me, for you do not think about the things of God, but the things of men” (Matthew 16:23). It was the master's zeal to make him a leader.
His thoughts are human thoughts. The disciple's idea that the teacher should not die is correct. Peter didn't want to stay that way.
Growing up after hearing the rebuke, Peter became a spiritual leader who brought 3,000 people back a day.
zeal to immortalize
The zeal of Jesus is the zeal that does not hesitate to die. You put your whole body into what you want to do.
Passion does not yield in the face of any difficulties and difficulties. No matter how sharp an ax is, it cannot knock down a large tree with one hit. There is no tree that won't fall after hitting it 10 times.
Insurance agents earning billions of dollars a year are increasing. “I talk to over 100 customers a day,” said one insurance king. “Without Genghis Khan’s passion, he would have been just an ordinary shepherd.” It was in a TV commercial. Nothing can be achieved without zeal. Passion is a mysterious force that neither money nor skill nor experience can match.
The Jews said to Jesus, “What sign will you show us because you are doing these things?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (verses 18-19). You are talking about the body of The Bible calls the body that contains the Holy Spirit a temple.
“The Jews said, “It took 46 years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” But Jesus was speaking of his own body, the temple” (verses 20-21).
“Destroy this temple” means “kill me.” “In three days I will raise him up” means, “I will rise again on the third day”. Life is one. You can't change it even if you give it to the world. But Jesus was not afraid of death. It is a statement of your determination to throw yourself away for what you have to do.
In the world of fists, it is not the person who is good at fighting, but the person who risks his life. No one who fights to death will be beaten. Such a person is said to be poisonous, but no one can withstand poisonous poisoning.
“Not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself. If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s” (Romans 14:7-8).
“I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit” (John 12:24) is the law of death. It is not the end when it dies, but it bears many fruits 30, 60, 100 times when it dies.
In the book Posco way, “A strong field makes a strong company,” there is a saying, “Success is surprisingly weak if you face it boldly.” It is said that if you face boldly, success is conquered.
In 1968, at 4 am on a very cold winter day, people gathered in front of the Pohang Steel Construction Site Office at that time. “Everyone smiles to the right!” In front of them, President Park Tae-joon stood with his eyes wide open.
As if the red sun was just about to rise over the horizon, the sea water was shimmering in a red light reflecting off it. There was nothing in sight in front of them, who were standing “to the right and to the right.”
At that time, Chairman Park Tae-joon opened his mouth.
“We are trying to build a steel mill with the seed money to use the money for the claim against Japan, which is the price of the blood shed by our ancestors. If we fail to build a steel mill, we are committing an indelible sin before history and the people. If that happens, we'll all have to throw ourselves away in the first few days that we see over there.”
The construction of the steel mill that he risked his life for was a success. At that time, the steel mill was completed, and within one year, the loan was paid off and the surplus of 24.2 billion was started. The motto at the time, “Resources are finite, creativity is infinite,” ignited a fire in the hearts of the employees.
Japan Steel was a leader 100 years ahead of Korea. POSCO broke the unwritten rule of Japanese steel that said, “If it works in Japan, it works in the world.” We became POSCO, exporting plated steel sheets to Toyota, a Japanese automobile that had never even looked at our products.
“Laugh right!” Everyone! “Laugh right!” do it. That's the right-hand rule. God is at the right hand. David said … “I will not be moved because he is at my right hand” (Psalm 16:8).
“The heart of the wise is on the right, and the heart of a fool is on the left” (Ecclesiastes 10:2).
The right side is the right side. The one on the left is the wrong one.
“I will put the sheep on the right and the goats on the left. Then the king said to those on his right, "Come, you who are blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Matthew 2533-34).
When zeal swallows me up, I become zeal. When I swallow zeal, I become zealous. “Be zealous and serve the Lord” (Romans 12:11) “Be zealous, repent!” (Revelation 3:19)
“Destroy this city, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Lord threw himself.
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God? (1 Corinthians 3:16). I hope that your body will become a house that contains the Holy Spirit and a temple that contains the King Jesus, not a shrine that hosts demons that destroy you.
The Spirit of Christ is “the spirit of zeal.” With the zeal of Jesus, I hope that you will become a zealous fulfiller of Jehovah.
