Title: The Pious Man
Content <Words of the Day>
1 In Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of the army called Italiah.
2 He was devout, fearing God with all his household, giving much alms to the people, and praying constantly to God.
3 One day, about the ninth hour, I saw clearly in a vision, and an angel of God came in and said, Cornelius.
4 Cornelius looked and saw, and was afraid, and said, “Lord, what is going on?
5. Now send men to Joppa and ask for Simon, whose name is Peter.
6. He lodged in the house of Simon the tanner, which is said to be by the sea.
7. When the angel who was speaking had left, Cornelius called two of his servants and a devout man from among his men.
8. When he had finished these things, he sent them to Joppa.
“Why do you live?” An old monk who has spent his life in a mountain monastery deep in the Alps answers a fundamental question that everyone should think about at least once in their lives. “If you cannot find the deep will of the Lord, there is no reason to continue living.” What is the story? This is the story of the recently released movie The Great Silence.
◆ There is someone who knows our inner self.
Even without trying to say it, the Lord knows what we are inside. Even what we need and what kind of pain we have... . The reason we are not ashamed to stand before the Lord is because He already knows everything. The Lord knew who Cornelius was. He knew the deep inside of him that others couldn't see, and he heard his deep pleas. The beginning of godliness begins with the fact that the Lord knows me.
◆ Be easy to use.
There are things that are difficult to use. If the usage is complicated and difficult, it is not easy to use. All of the men the Lord used were those who had been polished for ease of use. Reverence means being prepared for that very use. Cornelius' piety began at home. It is not easy to be recognized by those close to you. Because the people close to him are the ones who see his back. But Cornelius's piety was a piety with skill that he shared with all the house. It was a strong piety in the field.
◆ History comes through the blessing of meeting.
I thought that if Cornelius was that prepared, he could have just told him the gospel directly. However, the Lord tries to get Cornelius to send a man to Joppa to get Peter. And through him, I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. What is the reason for using such a complex method instead of using a simple method? Meetings are a wonderful blessing. Meetings should not be taken lightly or viewed as a waste of time. If meeting were not important, the Lord would not have had to come to this earth. The wonderful blessing bestowed upon the godly is the grace of this encounter. I hope you have a year-end filled with heartbreaking blessings. Jesus Hope!
