Title: The Plowman / Luke 9:62

Life is truly a “continuous series of decisions.” Therefore, if we want to live a mature life, we need the act of determination to choose the right and more divine in the various possibilities that unfold every moment. If you refuse to make a decision and hide, or settle in the right line, you become a slave to these and other conditions without your knowledge. As time goes on, it only moves in the direction required by these conditions of life, but it does not show creative movement. A Christian is not a being who lives in a vague way as he is properly entrusted with the flowing water. Also, being trapped in the past and living only messing around with memories is not what a Christian looks like.
What unfolded before the first people expelled from Eden was a barren and barren land and environment. What they needed was not to look back and ruminate through the memories of the old Eden or repeat the regrets of the past, but rather a challenge to cultivate the rough ground with sweat and to obtain vital fruits.
This was also the case with Abraham, who left Ur of the Chaldeans. The Bible says: “I left my hometown, not knowing where I was going.” The Bible teaches that the unknown future is the "path of faith" rather than the known past. Settling in Chaldea will bring minimal stability for the time being, but it will be a life that has nothing to do with the creative life that comes from God. He left the Chaldeans and became new. It was not the external conditions, but the new way of life, attitude, and value of life. Ultimately, the determination for a “creative future” from God became the basis of faith.
The same is true of Lot, who lived in Sodom. He settled in the city of Sodom, where he was assured of pleasure and riches, but God tells Lot and his family to leave. Because it has become a place that has nothing to do with God's justice any longer. In the end, Lot's family left, but Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt when she looked back. This shows that there can be no “return” in the religious decision that has started toward a new world.
We should be Christians who, with a foreboding of pain or hardship, are willing to forsake "one's selfish safety and gain" and follow Jesus, leaving no regrets or regrets, and never looking back. We need mature religious convictions about the life Jesus showed us. No more reason to pause. This "mature confession of faith" that constantly moves and makes new decisions is also the basis for the maturity of the community.
Already we are plowing. Together with Jesus, we are taking steps to build the kingdom of God. Hesitating or looking back doesn't help. If we are still hesitating and not moving forward, it may be because of our lack of confidence in, or our disapproval of, the “righteous step of Jesus”, or our fear of the collapse of our stubborn 'city of selfishness'. I need to seriously check what's holding me back and what's holding me back.
“Anyone who puts his hand to the plow and keeps looking around is not fit for the kingdom of God.”
