Title: The Potter and the Mud

Contents Dear members of Baekseok Church, yes.

God is truly our potter.

And he wants to make our lives beautiful, good and righteous today,

And that's how you shape us. Beloved, any potter

They do not labor to make evil vessels, ugly vessels, and useless vessels with their hands.

The potter wants to make as strong, good and beautiful vessels as possible, and to make vessels suitable for the purpose.

I work hard and work hard. If so, how much more can you love us so much that even your only son

Could it be God the potter who gave up on the cross?

God, who is our potter, is the most beautiful and precious for me and you today.

He is shaping us to be vessels.

It is sometimes a trial and hardship that is incomprehensible to us who are weak and foolish.

it can be seen But remember in such moments,

That that moment is the moment God is silently shaping you and me.

the truth. And the potter makes the clay and turns it into beautiful pottery.

Remember that you are always with the earthenware throughout the process.

He silently treads the mud to get the air out.

He put mud on the rotary potter's wheel and turned it with his feet, with all his body and all his mind.

We make the shape of earthenware by hand with sincerity

He silently paints beautiful pictures on the body of earthenware.

And when the fire is kindled in the hot kiln, it does not leave the kiln for even a single moment,

Measure the temperature of the kiln. For several days without sleeping well, the temperature of the kiln outside the kiln

Measure the temperature with your hand to see if it is suitable. The potter is always right there.

That's right. Dear saints, God, who is our potter,

When we are in the water to be molded into beautiful earthenware, or when we return from the potter's wheel,

When patterns are drawn on our bodies, or when we moan in a hot furnace, right there

You are with us. That's why the bible says he keeps us like the pupil of the eye

(Psalm 17:8), and the one who keeps us neither slumbers nor sleeps.

No, he is saying that he takes care of us (Psalm 121:4-5).

As the prophet Jeremiah put it today, “we are always in his hands”

1) We must obey his hand.

So, there is one last thing we need to remember.

It is always in the hands of the potter so that we can be made into beautiful pottery.

It is a fact that you have to adapt. We must obey him as he makes us.

You should never jump out because it is hard, because it is painful, because it is painful, or because it is hot.

Then we become a failure. If the earthenware is too much in the fire

If it comes out hot, the earthenware will burst on the spot because of the temperature difference.

Therefore, we should not jump out because it is difficult, difficult, or hot.

We can only place ourselves completely in the hands of the one who shapes us.

And you must obey.

To do that, we must first of all listen to Him.

In today's text, verses 1-2, "The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,

Get up and go down to the potter's house.

There I will tell you my words.”

Jeremiah immediately obeyed these words.

He obeyed the command to go to the potter's house,

As he watched the potter's work there,

The word of God came to him.

Jeremiah went to where God had told him to go.

There, I could clearly hear the voice of God's revelation.

This attitude of Jeremiah, the place of obedience he stood

This is where we also have to stand today.

When God instructs you where you should go and where you should be,

To those who go there, that is, to those who obey God,

God gave us a more specific and clearer word,

What should we do and what kind of life should we live?

You teach more clearly.

So, where are you now?

Are you struggling? Are you too hard? When that happens, move forward to the place of the Word.

And obey it.

The potter's good hand will eventually guide us.

And he will make us into the precious work that God truly desires.

2) The result of adaptation: The story of the potter and the clay

Here is one such beautiful story of the potter and the clay.

“Like all clay, earthenware becomes the best work of art,

It was my greatest dream to climb up to the decoration of a wealthy house.

Fortunately, our potter is the best artisan in the country.

Almost all of the vessels he made were sold to royal palaces and wealthy houses.

One day a potter sat in front of me and started kneading me.

Then I started getting excited too.

Because it reminded me of myself to be born as the most wonderful work in the world.

but it was a bit weird

It was because the appearance of me that the potter made was completely different from before.

An unusually wide handle on a spout that is inclined to one side,

I could hear the laughter of other muds watching me.

I was so upset that I felt like crying.

I hated and hated the hand of the potter who molded me into such a hideous appearance.

Finally, my appearance from the Bulma was really desperate.

I couldn't understand why the potter had shaped me like this.

But as soon as I was finished, the potter sat me in his arms and ran to somewhere.

He arrived at the house of a poor farmer.

No matter how hard you tried to sell me to this poor

The more I thought about the potter who made this shape, the more I hated it.

I'd rather fall to the floor and hope that I'll be gone.

But the moment I saw the farmer coming out, I was so surprised.

The farmer had both hands amputated while working in the fields.

So he couldn't use an ordinary-looking bowl.

The potter knows this and can use his arm instead of his hand for this farmer.

He made a bowl that looked like me.

The potter said to the farmer holding me in tears.

"I'm more thankful. It's the first time I've been this happy while making earthenware.

This bowl is my best work''

It was then that I realized that the best work a potter made was me.

And then I could feel the warm touch of the potter who made it."

outgoing words

Dear members of Baekseok Church, yes. We are all his greatest masterpieces.

“We are the work of God. To make us do good, God

made us in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:10).

We are God's masterpieces, crafted by the hands of our Heavenly Father by the potter.

We must not forget this.

And that God is shaping us like this is that we are completely wrong.

It is to make a living doing good works in this world.

Therefore, confessing that our sufferings are the process of making us whole vessels,

Let us give our all to the Lord and obey only His Word.

At that time, the Lord, who is the potter, will heal our weaknesses and shortcomings.

Healing and refining, turning us into masterpieces for God's good works

you will make it And for the good works that God has made

When we do our best, our Heavenly Father, who made us through who we are,

You will be glorified.

"Loving Heavenly Father,

We confess that you are the potter, and we are the clay.

Here we are, shape us according to your will.

I believe that we are the masterpieces of the potter God,

Use us to do your good work.

And that we are proud to be God's masterpieces on the Korean Peninsula, our homeland.

May I live boldly with joy. I pray in Jesus name. Amen"
